Wallpaper?

Steven wants some new wallpaper for his computer at work, so I'm trying to find some for him with no luck. Where do you go to get your wallpaper?

Sickly Saturday

Last night, right after I made my post about what a wonderful Friday it had been, I got really sick. With my stomach problems (I got diagnosed with gastritis early this year), I almost always feel kind of crappy, but it's been worse lately and last night it hit hard. I ended up curled in a ball on the dozing on and off. Steven and I were supposed to go up to Winchester (outside of Giddings, not too far from Austin) for Chritmas at my Grandpa's house, but I felt so bad when I woke up that I called my mom and told her we weren't going to be able to make it. I'm feeling better today, but still kind of bad. How I wish my stomach would be all nice and normal and not revolt all the time.

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is my mom's birthday. She's up visiting my grandpa today, so I won't get to see her, but I wanted to wish her a happy birthday and let her know how much I love her. I love you, Mom! Happy birthday!

MT PingedURLs

Thanks to a post in Kristine's MT Plugin Directory page, I found a great plugin by David Rayners called MT PingedURLs.

With this plugin, instead of only being able to list the URLs that you've pinged, you can change it around and add all kinds of information like the title of the post and an excerpt from the post. I've always wanted something like this since I have a "Pings Sent" section in both my TrackBack and Individual Archive templates. It's like an early Christmas present.

Wonderful Friday

Today has been a nice Friday. We had our office party this afternoon and followed it up with three games of Ultimate Outburst. It was fun and a nice way to start five days off from work since I'm taking Monday off and we get Tuesday and Wednesday. I'm now buzzing on piña and luxuriating in the fact that I have nothing to do. It feels so nice.

Nothing that I wanted in my Amazon.com Gold Box Offers today, so quite a lot of passing took place.

Allegria

Thanks to a post by Elaine, I found out that Cirque du Soleil's Allegria is coming to Houston in March, which just happens to be right in time for my birthday. Steven and I saw "O" the last time we were at The Bellagio and it was the most amazing thing I have ever seen. While I don't think Allegria will be as good (there is no way to top the way water is used in the "O" Theater), I am still very excited to see Cirque du Soleil again. I just bought tickets for me and Jeanna to go on March 20th. It's going to be an awesome evening.

MTBlogTimes

I noticed a nifty little chart thingy at the bottom of Kristine's site the other day and was immediately intrigued. It turns out it's generated by an MT plugin called BlogTimes. It was easy to install (I had to also download the GD perl module stuff, so if you're a Blogomania client you probably will too) and now it's down at the bottom of the page. Makes it pretty easy to see that I am a night person. Hopefully the vertical version will be completed soon so I can add it to the sidebar.

Reasons For Love #11

Every Wednesday those who are involved in a relationship with somebody share a few (simple but significant) reasons for their love. Please keep in mind that this does not have to be a romantic relationship. It can be about a parent, a sibling, a friend, a co-worker, your kid, your dog, whatever.

Stop in here to join the notify list, see who else has left their reasons, and to be added to the blogroll. Also, feel free to save the button below to your server and link it to http://www.neuroticfishbowl.com/reasons.html

Super Kitty

As of late, Bella has become obsessed with the algae eater that we have in our 55 gallon tank. It's very odd since currently he's the only thing in there and she doesn't pay any attention to the two tanks in the computer room which have the lively, always moving goldfish. All I can figure out is that he confuses her since he doesn't move much and she's trying to decide what the hell he is. She's spent the better part of almost two weeks in front of the tank, rarely coming to sit with me in the back room and even sleeping on the table that faces it instead of with us in the bed.

This morning, at about 4:45, she hops up in the bed. Her bell wakes me up, so I call to her to come cuddle with me. Instead, she remains sitting by my foot, meowing. I sit up and lean towards her, squinting, to see if anything is wrong. Since it's fairly dark and I don't have any glasses on, all I can see is that she's brought a black blob up with her. I immediately think, "OMG. She learned how to open the tank and caught the algae eater." Leaning closer I see it's one of her feather wands (though not the one from the infamous Hellcat picture). I say out loud, "She's got her feather wand," and hand it to Steven who's also stirring at this point. It's then that things take a turn for what could have truly been a disastrous conclusion.

We live in a loft condo and for, whatever reason, Steven tossed the feather behind him over the ledge to the floor below. Bella runs at the feather and continues over the ledge, which is probably twenty feet high. I hear a thud and Steven yells an obscenity, while I scramble for the lights and he starts running downstairs. She had missed landing on the glass table (I shudder to think how badly she might have been hurt) and appeared to be fine. We petted her and looked for any injuries she might have sustained, but she just wanted to go back downstairs and sit in front of the tank so we let her.

When I woke up this morning she wasn't at my feet like she usually is and I started thinking she had died from internal injuries overnight and refused to get out of bed until Steven would go check on her. She was fine and even played with us, so I guess all's well that ends well. Maybe she just wanted to take this pose to the next level.

I Wish, You Wish

Just in case you've missed it, I thought I would make a post about the new project that Shelli and I started called I Wish, You Wish.

I Wish, You Wish is a collection of wishes by bloggers which means that here, in one centralized location, you can find a blogger's name, URL, birthdate, and a link to their wishlist, if you feel inclined to buy them a present. We hope it becomes a good resource for the web, so feel free to submit your own information.

Last Minute Gift Idea

By the way, if you're looking for a last minute gift idea, why not try out Sudsalicious Bodyworks and get some soap or lotion for your loved ones? Shopping Sunday

Jeanna came by today and we braved Best Buy, the mall, Barnes and Noble, and Toys 'R Us to finish up our last minute gift needs. Unfortunately, the damn gift card machine at Best Buy (I need three cards from there) wasn't working so I'll either need to go over there on my lunch break or run by one day after work.

We went to the new Sephora in the mall and Jeanna was going to get me Stila's Creme Bouquet perfume, which I just fell in love with a while back. While we were there, though, she tried on Comptoir Sud Pacifique Amour de Cacao perfume. It combines vanilla (my favorite fragrance), unsweetened dark chocolate, and bitter orange. While that may not sound all that appealing it smelled so damn good on her that I was torn on which one to get. Luckily Sephora will give you little testers of fragrances so I got one of each to try this week and see which one I like best. Knowing me, I'll have her buy one and I'll buy the other.

We also found this little pick-me up sprays by Demeter in all these different scents. I liked the angelfood one alot, but the one that I really like is, I kid you not, dirt. It smells like dirt. But it smells good. Weird, huh?

Even though I am doomed and have to go brave the Best Buy lines again, I'm starting to feel Christmasy and happy. Hope everyone had a weekend as good as mine!
