.: Name: Kymberlie Renee McGuire. My name is legally Kimberly, but there were four other Kimberlys in my class. I'm an original, damn it!, so when I was about twelve I experimented with different spellings (Kimberlie, Kymberly, and others) until I settled on Kymberlie. It's different and unique, and even though people never get it right, I like it and think it suits me well.
.: Birthday: March 18, 1975. I am the quintessential Pisces, which may have something to do with my love of water (even though I can't swim) and marine life.
.: Where: Houston, Texas. I was born and raised here (a rarity - most Houstonians are transplanted from elsewhere) and have never lived anywhere else. When I was younger I used to hate Houston, but I like living here now.
.: What I do for a living: Project Manager at 4 Guys Interactive, a local web development company. I am a total geek and being able to work in an Internet company makes me very happy.
.: Physical: I'm 5'5" tall, have long blonde hair almost to my waist, and blue eyes (I wear contacts most of the time, but glasses at home on the weekends). No tattoos yet (would like to get one of a fish, but just can't figure out where to put it), I have three earrings in each ear, and a bent barbell in my bellybutton.
.: College: I went to the University of Houston from 1993 through 1997. I have a Bachelor's of Science with a major in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. As you can tell, I don't use my degree too often.
.: Domain name: NeuroticFishbowl.com was created after Christine combined something I said once with a Matisse print. Christine and I went to lunch one day and we were talking about some things that were going on in my life. I said, "(T)he neurotic funhouse that is my life never ends," causing her to crack up and almost drive us in to oncoming traffic. A week later I sent Christine a link to a painting by Henri Matisse of three fish in a bowl on a table. Christine took one look at the link and instant messaged me back that she had the perfect domain name for me: NeuroticFishbowl.com. I loved it, thought it summed me up perfectly, and promptly registered it. I also have PictureFish.com (my photolog), ChangesTurningANewLeaf.com (my exercise/fitness blog), BiblioBlog.com (my book blog), PolishIt.com (a group blog for people to show off their fingernails and toenails that isn't set up yet), Kymberlie.com, SomethingInteresting.net, and ConspiraciesRUs.com, ConspiracyTheoriesRUs.com.
.: Politics: I am a liberal Democrat. I believe in a strong separation of church and state, am pro-choice, and think gays and lesbians should be allowed to get married and have equal benefits.
.: Reading: I love to read. I read constantly and take a book with me everywhere I go. My favorite genre is horror, but I like lots of different books, though I don't read romance (a rare exception being the Outlander series by Diana Galbaldon). My favorite author, hands down, is Stephen King. I just love everything he writes. I am completely engulfed in The Dark Tower series and can't wait for the next book. Other favorite writers include Clive Barker, H. P. Lovecraft, David Eddings, Pam Houston, Douglas Adams, Janet Evanovich, Dean Koontz (though not as much lately), David Sedaris, and Christopher Moore. Visit BiblioBlog for reviews of all the books I've read since January 2002 and my never-ending books to be read list.
.: Poker: I love to play Texas Hold 'Em. I play mostly online at Paradise Poker in their $6 or $11 tournaments. During the summer when I was laid off, I played in free roll tournaments of two hundred people at Poker Pages twice a day. I usually finished in the top twenty or so. Steven and I go to Vegas once a year or so and you'll find us at the $4-$8 table in the Bellagio more than likely. Houston also has a pretty good underground game circuit, but I need to build my bankroll up some more before I start playing.
.: EverQuest: I have fallen in love with EverQuest ever since I began playing late October of 2002. I've always loved role playing games, so the addition of the online aspect (you are actually playing with real live people! That is so cool!) knocked me head over heels for the game. I am a human paladin named Ibocea and play on the Veeshan server.
