Cross Your Fingers...

The "business" appointment went really well today. There's an issue, but I think it's one that will be easily overcome. Everyone cross their fingers that this works out well!

Change of Plans

Most of the girlies that I invited out tonight couldn't make it for various reasons, so I'm going to be moving my birthday celebration to another night (maybe not next week, though, with the March Tiaras being Friday). Instead, I'll be taking Mr. Speed Dating (the guy I met in the bar) up on his offer to have a drink on my side of town instead. Here's hoping he's as cute as I remember and as interesting in person as he has been on the phone!

Turning It Around

I've got a phone call today about something I'm really excited about. Can't give details, really, but let's just say I have a "business" appointment tomorrow afternoon. Wish me lots and lots and lots of luck. Maybe my birthday's the start of new positives in my life!

Happy Birthday, Wendy!

Today also happens to be Wendy's birthday, so go over there and give the other birthday girl some lovin'! (Btw, I adore your Queer Eye layout!)

29th

I can't believe it, but I am now twenty-nine years old. Quite a monumental birthday, if you ask me. I am now in the last of my twenties. Who would have ever thought? I've invited some of my favorite girlies out to a fabulous jazz bar to help me celebrate, so tonight ought to be lots of fun. Happy birthday to me!

Speed Dating

Last night, my brother and I went to a speed dating event hosted by Match.com. (Truthfully, I dragged my brother along and even bought his ticket because I didn't want to go by myself.)

Basically, for $25, everyone goes to a nice restaurant (in this case, it was La Strada), has some appetizers, and has four minute "dates" with several people (twenty this time). How it works, for those not familiar with the concept is that two girls are seated at a table for four. Guys rotate to the next station every four minutes. In that four minutes, you talk and get to decide if yes, no, or maybe you'd like to see that person again.

While there was really only one or two guys that I would consider dating, there were a lot of really nice guys and I had a blast. I also met a really nice girl who's new to the area, so hopefully I'll get a new friend out of this.

The funny thing is before it started, I was in the bar getting an apple martini. I noticed this tall, cute guy standing off to the side with his friend. I got my drink and left my brother to pay for it (got to have some use for a little brother, right?) and walked in their direction. The cute guy asked me if I was there for the speed dating. I said I was and asked him the same. He said he and his friend had come up there, but there were no spaces left. I told him in that case, he better take my number since I wasn't going to be able to meet him. He called tonight and we talked for about an hour and a half and have a tentative date set for Friday night. Be kind of funny if I meet someone through the speed dating who wasn't an actual participant.

Pondering

Just curious, but am I the only Tiara Happy Hour person who wanders around her house in her tiara? Emily? Christine? Robin? Katie? Natalie? Sarah? Anyone?

Sponsorship

I had someone contact me yesterday about adding a sponsored ad to the ones that I'm already showing. We agreed on the price and his ad is now showing up in the sidebar. He asked that I pass his name around to any other bloggers that might be interested in doing the same, so if you're interested, e-mail Jonathan and tell him I sent you.
