Another Cryptic Entry

I know I'm being cryptic, but the thing that was a big deal on Tuesday may have a silver lining (again, feel free to e-mail me if you're nosy; I don't care) and I'll be taking a step towards it tomorrow. Send me lots of good luck. Thanks!

Excellent Movie and Soundtrack

So, I have close to 9,000 mp3s after I burned the several hundred CDs that I owed plus miscellaneous mp3s that just appeared on my hard drive by themselves, I swear.

Lots of time when I listen to music on my computer, I load all the mp3s and hit the "Shuffle" button on WinAmp just to see what I get. If I don't feel like listening, to the next song we go.

Tonight, while spinning the music roulette wheel, I got a track from The Last of the Mohicans soundtrack. Not only is that an incredible soundtrack, the move rocks. Every time I see it on, I am forced to watch it, even though I own the DVD and can, theoretically, watch it any time I want to.

I've read some of James Fenimore Cooper (though not this book) and I found him impossible to get through, but this movie is just perfection to me. Michael Mann's direction is wonderful, the cinematography is gorgeous, and it's an incredible love story, both the one between Hawkeye and Cora and the subtle one between Alice and Uncas. At the end of the movie where Magua is gesturing to Alice to come with him and instead she makes the choice she does (don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't seen it), just grips my heart every time.

So, no real point to this post, just felt like waxing rhapsodic about one of my favorite movies.

Say a Little Prayer For Me

I found out some news today that I can't really post yet (e-mail me if you want to know), but if everyone could continue to send me good wishes or even offer up a prayer for me, I would really appreciate it. This has got to be the most trying period in my life and I can use all the help that I can get. Thank you all so much.

Working Out

Excellent! My Winsor Pilates DVDs showed up today!

Since my goal is to loose eight more pounds and get tone by the beginning of the year, this is great timing! Now I need to see if I can borrow my brother's DVD player for my room. Somehow I just can't see myself doing pilates in the living room in front of my whole family!

Lucky Oops

I love it when I accidentally sit down at a no-limit poker tournament (I like limit better) and still manage to place (and second place at that).

Retail Therapy

My brother is a strong believer in the soothing power of retail therapy. I figured since now none of my clothes fit me (I've lost almost twenty pounds), I may as well go and get some nice basics that I can mix and match for things like parties and dates. I hit Banana Republic and got three skirts (two long and one short), a top, a top with a cami underneath, and the best pair of pen striped pants ever.

I had Russell take pictures for me, but they all came out looking weird (I am just so unphotogenic most times except for this one and I've still got some weird kind of look on my face). Since it was the only decent one, though, it had to go up. Check out the sexy new me! (And I'm not tall at all - not sure how I got lucky enough to find pants to give me that illusion!)

Dietary Questions

With all the hype that the South Beach Diet has been getting lately, I took a look at it and it seems that it's one of those "no carbs, higher fat" diets.

Now, I know several people have been either on it or thinking of trying it out, so I was wondering if anyone with any health know how could do me a favor.

Thanks to Christine, I found this place called Fit Day that keeps track of what you eat and your exercise activities.

I posted what I was considering making my daily diet here and I was worried that while I don't have a lot of carbs, I have a ton of fat. Steven always told me that it wasn't the fat that was my problem, but the carbs.

Anyone care to offer up their opinion?
