Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Autumn. As the season changes, what changes for you? Your Daily Routine? Weekend Schedules? Your Mood? My mood changes some because I don't like the cold and I'm miserable if it gets too cold for me. My weekend schedule stays pretty much the same, as does my daily schedule.

Twosome. Soap. Come now, fess up. Are you a squeaky clean kind of person - or are there dark secrets hidden in your closets??? A few kind of dark secrets, perhaps, but nothing too terrible.

Threesome. Sale. Have you ever bought something absolutely ridiculous or unnecessary, simply because it was on sale and "such a good deal"? Is it tucked away in the attic or a closet - or did you find it really useful? I bought some knee-high leather boots last year that, while I love boots like that, I have nothing to wear them with. I kept them in the box for a week and finally just took them back.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Double. If you could have a clone of yourself, what thing would you most want that clone to do so you don't have to? Work! My clone could go to the office for me every day.

Twosome. Bubble. Anyone you know live life in a bubble? Who? And do you wish they'd snap back to reality? Honestly, most people live in a bubble. There are about three people, though, without naming names, that I wish would wake the hell up.

Threesome. Bubblegum. Willy Wonka talks about chewing gum to be a nasty habit. What's your worst habit? Do you wish you could give it up? Drinking far too many Cokes and not exercising as much as I should. Yeah, I wish I could kick the Coke addiction, but I doubt I ever will.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Small. Is it a small world? In how many miles of space do you live your life? Pretty small space, actually. I live less about seven miles from my office and I usually have lunch within a mile or two of work. Most of the time when Steven and I go out to dinner on the weekends, we go to one of several restaurants nearby. We used to go out more often, but the older I get (yeah, because I'm so old at twenty-seven), the less I feel like going out on the weekends.

Twosome. Spiral. Ever felt as if you were on a downward spiral? How did you pull out of it? About seven years ago or so my ex-fiancee and I broke up. He was my high school boyfriend and we'd been together for five years. I was very devastated. Luckily I had some good friends who helped me through it all by just being there for me. I will always be grateful to them for all of the support they gave me.

Threesome. Notebook. Notebooks and pens and crayons and glue...when you think about school supplies, what do you most remember? Crayons. I love crayons. I used to just look at all the pretty colors in my box of sixty-four crayons and just sit mesmerized. Jeanna gave me a coloring book of sea life that works like stained glass and I need to get some crayons and start coloring.

Thursday Threesome

I didn't get a chance to do it yesterday, so here's Deb's Thursday Threesome a little late.

Onesome: Blue - what is it that bums you out and makes you feel blue? Lately, it's been work-related issues, but I don't feel like going into them.

Twosome: Light - what is the light at the end of your tunnel? Usually the weekend! :-) More specifically, though, Steven, my friends, and my family.

Threesome: Special - who is that special someone who has seen your bluest of blues and your light of the tunnel? Probably both Steven and Jeanna. They've been there for me when I've needed people badly and I love them for it.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome: all - all the world's a stage... So what types of issues put you on your soapbox? Lots of them, but lately they are family planning, the whole stupid TIPS (spy on your neighbor) thing, trucks and SUVs on the road, and slackers.

Twosome: things - what sort of things are you most likely to purchase "spur of the moment" when shopping? Beanie babies and little cheap knick-knacks that I don't need.

Threesome: girl - sugar and spice and everything nice? Come now, what are YOU really made of? Both. I am very sweet, but I can also be a real bitch.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. A Clear - In the last few months, what have you muddled over that suddenly became a clear, focused picture or plan of action? Hmmm. Kind of some work situations, but it's still a little up in the air.

Twosome. And Present - what is the coolest present you've ever gotten and/or given? The coolest present I've given lately was probably a witch's rosary that I gave to Trish. It was gorgeous. Best present I've ever gotten is hard, but the thing that's coming to mind is when Steven put me on his credit card out of the blue since I didn't have any (long story). It showed that he trusted me and loved me very much and it made me feel really great.

Threesome. Danger - have you ever been in a dangerous situation? Well, my last long relationship was dangerous in the sense that the guy was really bad for me and it would have been a disaster if we had stayed together. Otherwise, I can't really think of anything.

Thursday Thumb-Twiddler

It's time for Dave's Thursday Thumb-Twiddler!

1. One hot summer afternoon, while walking through a parking lot at a large shopping mall, you notice a dog suffering badly from the heat inside a locked car. What would you do? I would try and find mall security and report the person. In a mall, there would be no way otherwise to find the rat bastard that did that to their dog.

2. You are in a restaurant rest room. You notice an employee leaving without washing his/her hands. Do you bring the matter to the attention of the owner or manager? If so, do you do it publicly or privately? I probably wouldn't, but if I did, it would be privately.

3. What is one item you own that you really should throw away ... but probably never will? Probably far more items than I could list, but if I have to pick just one it would be probably some ratty shirts that I love but would hate to part with.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome: Long--Long tall drink. What's your favorite beverage, alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic? Alcoholic it is, hands-down, the raspberry piña coladas that Steven makes for me. Carrabba's Grand Roman Ritas run a close second. Non-alcoholic it's a cherry coke, especially fountain ones.

Twosome: Hot--Do you like it hot? Spicy hot food, that is! No way! I have to have mild food; I can't take heat at all. It's sad, but even things like mild wings are sometimes a little hot for me.

Threesome: Summer--Summer makes you think of what food? What's your favorite summer recipe? Well, I don't cook, so I'll say it's Steven's raspberry piña coladas. :-)

Onesome: Soak--Like a sponge, what class in school did you seem to absorb the easiest? English classes. I was three years advanced and I always made good grades in it.

Twosome: Up--What things always bring you up when you are down? Steven. Jeanna. Pictures of sweet little animals like this one. Certain songs. A good book. Winning a poker tournament.

Threesome: The Sun--Enjoy the sun? What's your favorite outdoor activity? I'm not much of an outdoors person, so I guess driving around on a nice day with the top down on my Miata.

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Do a Little Dance. Everyone loves to watch a good dancer, so tell us your all time favorite movie dance scene and why. When Gene Kelly sings and dances in the rain in "Singin' in the Rain." I feel in love with that movie the first time I saw it and every time I watch him splashing in puddles and dancing so freely it makes me cry.

Twosome. Make a Little Love...Spill it! What do you do to make the night romantic for that certain someone? Dim the lights, pour the drinks, and put some music on, something sexy like Maxwell is always a good start!

Threesome. Get Down Tonight! Party it up, Getting your Groove on, or whatever you call it, everyone has a different style that they consider a good time. Let us in on what yours is. Me, Steven, and some friends out for dancing (either club style or two stepping) works for me!

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Miss Scarlett, what makes your face turn red? Not much really if you mean literally red. I hardly ever blush. Steven, on the other hand, blushes easily and I love to tease him and make him blush.

Twosome. The Library. What books are a must in your opinion for a personal library? Everything by Stephen King for sure. My personal library is huge and would also include things like The Handmaiden's Tale by Margaret Atwood, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy books by Douglas Adams, The Outlander series by Diana Galbaldon, and tons of horror anthologies.

Threesome. The Lead Pipe. Ever have a plumbing related woe? Tell us all about it. Nope. ~crosses fingers~

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Parsley - does anyone really cook with this stuff?!? what is the weirdest/funniest thing you ever did with the garnish on your plate at a restaurant. I must be really boring, but I can't think of anything weird or funny I've done with the garnishes on my plate. I usually just move them to the side or to a plate somewhere not near mine.

Twosome. Sage - to whom do you turn for advice? This isn't limited to just one person but could be several different people for different situations. Mostly I ask Steven, my mom, Jeanna, and Christine for general advice. For CSS and MT advice, I ask that Scripty Goddess Kristine.

Threesome. Rosemary and Thyme - what does the name "Rosemary" mean to you and to what time frame does the memory belong? My aunt Mickey's real name is Rosemary, so whenever I hear that name I think of her. She lived next door to us since I was five and when I go to my parents' house to play dominoes, she usually comes and plays too.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Healthy. Tell us about one thing you did for yourself that's healthy - and not just physical, mental and emotional health matter, too! For mental health I took some gift certificates that Trish gave me and spent three hours getting a facial, sea salt spa manicure, and spa pedicure at Urban Retreat, a day spa here in the area. Physically, I've been drinking at least eight glasses of water a day. I think it's helping me lose weight and I do feel better, though I have to go to the bathroom ten times a day at least!

Twosome. Wealthy. What in life makes you feel wealthy in your heart? Steven, my friends, and my family. It's nice to know you're loved and it's definitely the most important thing in the world.

Threesome. Wise. Share your favorite proverb or motto... or just make one up yourself. Stress can kill a goldfish. It can kill a person too, so try not to let everything get to you. (This, btw, is something I'm trying to do myself.) I just made that up; can you tell? ;-)

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Readin. Tell me about your favorite book you read as a kid. Gosh, I've read so many books - both as a kid and as an adult - that it is hard to pick a favorite. When I was a kid, I really loved the Wrinkle in Time series. That's the one that's coming to me right now.

Twosome. 'Ritin. Everyone does a Senior Research paper. What was YOUR Senior Research Paper about? Actually, I was about three years advanced in English, so I didn't have to take any English classes past my sophmore year. My senior year, however, I did take an independent study English (definition of independent study: sit in the library with my friend for a whole period and pretend like you're studying on a chosen subject that you don't start researching until a week before your presentation is due). My topic was on architecture in English cathedrals. Since I went on vacation with an aunt and uncle there a few years before and had learned a lot about the architecture and had all the pictures, it was pretty easy.

Threesome. 'Rithmatic. Using those 'rithmatic skills to balance the checkbook...so, what store seems to have the most entries in your register, and what the heck have you been buying there? The most checks I write are to place like Pitty Pats Too and Y'all's Texas Store - I buy all my Beanie Babies there. :-)

Onesome. Livin. Livin La Vida Loca. Oh, for goodness sake. What pop song do you love to sing along with but don't want to admit it? I know a lot of people are completely annoyed by the McDonald's commercial featuring that Spice Girl song, but I like it.

Twosome. Charmed. Charmed, did you say? Come now, are you superstitions? Do you buy into lucky charms and signs and such? I am a little bit. Mostly in the "This poker table at Paradise Poker is called a name I like. That must mean I will win at this table" kind of way.

Threesome. Life. Let's play the game of Life. Or is it Monopoly? What is your all time favorite board game? Come on, tell us what you like about it. My all-time favorite board game has got to be Trivial Pursuit. As my friends can tell you, I am the Trivia Queen. When I was in middle school (before we could drive), my friends and I used to play Trivia Pursuit over the phone. Can you tell I've been geeky my whole life?

Thursday Threesome

Since I had such a terrible day yesterday and there doesn't appear to be a Friday Five, I'll do Deb's Thursday Threesome now.

Onesome. Hold Me. What's your first remembrance of holding an infant (or if you aren't into kids - a baby animal) ? Feel free to talk about other stand-out holding memories. I really don't like kids and avoid holding infants for the most part. The first time I remember holding a baby animal is when we got a little tiger-striped kitten we named Tiger (very original, no?). Unfortunately she was hit by a car later, but I still remember her.

Twosome. Thrill Me. Up for a thrilling ride? Tell us, do you seek the thrill rides at the amusement park or is the carousel more your speed? Thrill rides all the way, baby! I love rollercoasters and always fantasize about joining one of those rollercoaster clubs where the members travel all over the country to ride the different rides.

Threesome. Kiss Me. Come on - kiss and tell - at least, tell us about your first *real* kiss. I was a freshman in high school and was about a month and a half shy of my fifteenth birthday. There was this cute junior in my Spanish class (at least I think he was in my Spanish class) named Randall Hall. He was tall, cute, blonde, and pitcher on the baseball team. We had been flirting and I was so nervous around him. One day he offered to drive me home, but we had to stop at his house first so he could get his work uniform (he worked at the Eckerd's near my house). No one else was home and I remember being so nervous when he kissed me very slowly and thoroughly. He was a great kisser and though he ended up making out with my friend later and was obviously a jerk, it was still a nice first kiss.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. Lions! Can a lion tame its mane? What about you? Tell us your worst hair memory. The first time I got a perm (I was probably around twelve) the electricity and water went out at the Fantastic Sam's where I was getting my hair done. They had already put the soloution in and couldn't get it out for hours. My hair was so frizzy and curly. It was awful.

Twosome. Tigers! Can a tiger change its stripes? Can people really change? This is something I'm not too sure about. Some people can, but I think some people can't. I think if someone is really committed to making the change successful it can happen, but most people only say they're going to change. All depends on the person.

Threesome. Bears! Who's a grumpy bear? 'Fess up - what makes you grumpy? Lately I have been very grumpy. Clients with insane demands, co-workers who don't do their share, computers that break - all of these things have contributed to making me grumpy. Oh, yes. And getting a cold from my boyfriend.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. The Good. Read a good book lately? Recommend a recent read - as well as your favorite book of all time. Probably the best book that I've read lately (out of the twenty or so I've read so far this year) would have to be The Red Tent by Anita Diamant. It was such an amazing story of life and of women. I loved it. My favorite book of all time would probably be Stephen King's It. The characters in that story are so strong and their relationships so gripping that I fall in love with it every time I pick it up.

Twosome. The Bad. Was it so bad that you couldn't watch anymore? Tell us about a bad movie - did you leave or suffer through it? (Videos can count, too) I have to agree with Trish and say Random Hearts. I'm sure there's been other movies, but that one was just so terrible. Maybe if we hadn't seen American Beauty first (we snuck in) it wouldn't have been so bad, but I really hated that one. Oh! The Lord of the Rings! I totally hated that movie too. I know it won a ton of Oscars and all, but I thought it was extremely boring.

Threesome. And The Ugly. And then things turned ugly.... Oh, have a day (or date) seem to go so horribly wrong it can only be described as "ugly"? Tell us all about it. I guess I'm lucky in that regard because I've never really dated. I went from a long-term relationship with a guy from high school to swearing off men for over a year, and then I met Steven and we've been together ever since.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome. The Sun. Blow some sunshine my way, and tell me what makes you feel joyful. Lots of things. They include riding around with the top down on my Miata on a Friday afternoon, going to Galveston for the weekend with my best friend, and being with Steven to name a few. Oh, and the massage tomorrow and the trip to Vegas on Sunday are making me pretty damn joyous!

Twosome. The Moon. By the light of the silvery moon....tell me about your most romantic evening. I always think of mine and Steven's first date. It wasn't anything spectacular like a trip to Paris or a picnic on the beach, but it was so amazing. We went to dinner and talked about a million things, went to the movies, walked around the mall for two hours waiting for the movie to start, and he was just incredibly sweet, charming, and wonderful. He held my hand, complimented my dimple, and just made me feel like the most special person on the planet. We've had other dates that are probably "more romantic," but to me, that one will more than likely always be the best.

Threesome. And The Stars. What's your sign, baby? And do you believe in that sort of thing, anyway? I do, to an extent. I am a Pisces to a tee. I've had my chart done and it really was almost an identical picture of who I am. I've had other people's done as well (like Steven) and he was very much like what his chart said. I don't read my horoscope very often and I would never plot my day by it, but I do think there is something to astrology.

Thursday Threesome

Time for Deb's Thursday Threesome!

Onesome: Red. Color me passionate...what are you passionate about? Lots of things, but mostly stuff like abortion rights, gay rights, and other liberal causes.

Twosome: White. Color me truthful...or is it little white lies? What's the last "little white lie" that's come from your mouth (or keyboard)? I can't really remember, but it was probably something along the line of telling someone they looked good in something they don't. I hate to tell someone that they look bad if they love their outfit. They're happy, so what does it hurt? Usually, though, I am very truthful.

Threesome: Blue. Color me with music...what one piece of music really speaks to you? God, there is so much music that really speaks to me. The first one that comes to mind right now is "Winter" by Tori Amos.

He says...
When you gonna make up your mind
When you gonna love you as much as I do
When you gonna make up your mind
Cause things are gonna change so fast
All the white horses are still in bed
I tell you that I'll always want you near
You say that things change, my dear

Lots of Tori's music speaks to me. When I had just gotten out of a very self-destructive relationship her music helped me learn to stand on my own and to understand that I AM worth quite a lot. Her music helped me find my own way.

Thursday Threesome

Since I was down on Thursday, here's Deb's Thursday Threesome a bit late.

Onesome. Love. Ever felt that "unconditional love?" Tell us about it. Maybe with my evil ex-fiance whom I refer to as Satan, but I've forgotten why I would have ever felt that way about him. He was a complete ass when we broke up. Fucker.

Twosome. Labors. What was your first paying job (not counting baby-sitting)? If you don't count typing documents for my uncle, my first real job was working at a grocery store call Food Basket when I was a senior in high school. We called it Food Bucket, or The Bucket for short, and it was the worst place to work. The management sucked, the pay sucked, and we had turtles and snakes in the scary hell-like back of the store. Yuck.

Threesome. Lost. Have a knack for losing things? Is there something you lose "all the time?" I lose stuff all the time. I'm forever going, "Honey, have you seen my glasses, my book, my whatever?" I'm really bad about taking my contacts out before finding my glasses. I'm then completely blind and have no shot in hell of locating them if there aren't on the sink or my nightstand.

Thursday Threesome

I found a new weekly thing to add to the blog: Deb's Thursday Threesome.

Onesome. Bed. You spend a few hours a night there, so tell us about your bed - size, favorite sheets, comforter...oh, and do you make it or leave it unmade? We have a king size rake bed from Kincaid's Ducks Unlimited collection with a pillow-top matress. It is absolutely the most comfortable bed in the world. We have plain white sheets and a synthetic down comforter. It's a great wonderful bed which I never make. :-)

Twosome. Bath. OK. How much time does it take you to get "ready" on the average day - from first step into the bathroom to stepping out fully dressed. I am Ms. Speedy in the morning. I shower at night since my hair is so long and takes forever to dry. It takes me between twenty and thirty minutes to put on make-up, get dressed, and brush my hair.

Threesome. Beyond. What is your favorite room / area of your home? Tell us all about it. That would have to be my computer room. I have an awesome desk with my computer and kick-ass speakers so I can listen to music. We've also got a really comfortable leather chair with ottoman and a tv. Great room.
