This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday at its new home:
- "Time" or "Newsweek"?
Probably "Newsweek."
- "Wall Street Journal" or "National Enquirer"?
Not that I really like it, but "National Enquirer" seems like a less boring choice.
- "Sports Illustrated" or "Cook's Illustrated"?
"Cook's Illustrated." I hate sports.
- "Martha Stewart Living" or "MAD Magazine"?
Probably "Martha Stewart Living."
- "Cosmopolitan" or "Maxim"?
"Cosmopolitan." I can't freaking stand "Maxim."
- "People" or "Entertainment Weekly"?
"Entertainment Weekly," I suppose.
- "National Geographic" or "Readers Digest"?
"National Geographic." I love the stories and the pictures.
- "Good Housekeeping" or "Popular Mechanics"?
"Good Housekeeping," though neither really.
- "PC World" or "MacWorld"?
"PC World."
- "Southern Living" or "Yankee" (magazine about New England living)?
"Southern Living." I don't want anything to do with a damn Yankee. ;-)

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Opening presents...rip 'em open with all abandon, or carefully open, preserving the pretty paper for recycling?
I usually carefully open them, but I don't recycle the paper. I will keep some of it, though, if it's pretty enough - especially the bows!
- Do you and yours take turns, opening one gift at a time, or does everyone just rip into everything at the same time?
When I lived with my parents it was everyone opened one gift apiece. Steven and I usually do the same.
- If you get something you don't like...do you try to return it, or keep it so as not to hurt the giver's feelings?
Depends. If it's something that someone doesn't know I've returned, I'll return it. If it's something that they might notice, I'll probably keep it.
- Do you spend the holiday at home (yours or someone else's), or do you go out and eat, see the newest movie, whatever?
We tend to spend it at home, though occasionally we'll go see a movie.
- What do you do with Christmas cards after the holiday is over? Save them, or toss them?
I tend to save them.
- Cook Christmas dinner, or does someone else do that?
Someone else. If I was responsible for cooking, everyone would get pop-tarts and cereal!
- It's Christmas Eve, and you have run out of wrapping paper. Do you go out and buy more, or wrap the rest of the gifts in the Sunday comics?
I actually don't wrap my own gifts (I suck at it), but I would probably go buy more paper if we ran out.
- On Christmas morning...up at the crack of dawn, eagerly anticipating the loot...or would you rather sleep in?
Sleep in. I haven't woken up early for Christmas on my own since I was very little.
- Do you want a white or a green Chrismas?
I've never even seen snow and it just sounds too cold and miserable, so I want a green one!
- Going to church on Christmas...yes or no?
No.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Real or artificial tree?
Steven and I don't have a tree but my parents always had a fake one when I was growing up.
- Real or artificial wreath?
Neither.
- Open gifts on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day (or do you do another holiday such as Hannukkah)?
Christmas Day. Have to wait until the actual day, even if that means opening them at 12:01 am.
- "It's A Wonderful Life" or "Miracle on 34th Street"?
Definitely "It's A Wonderful Life". That has got to be one of the best movies of all time bar none. I cry every time I watch it.
- Outdoor decorations, or just indoors?
My parents always did both.
- "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" or "Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer"?
Tough choice! I'm going to say Rudolph, though.
- Miniature lights or the larger ones?
The smaller ones. They seem so much prettier to me.
- Store-bought or hand-made ornaments?
Store-bought. I have like $500 worth of ornaments (but no tree. Sad, huh?).
- TV Specials: The Grinch or Charlie Brown?
The Grinch!
- Will you be staying at home for the holiday, or going visiting?
We'll go to my parents' and Steven's parents' houses but since they are like maybe twenty minutes away, I don't think that counts as traveling.

It IS an awesome movie, isn't it? I remember I thought it was so cool when I found out that Bert and Ernie from Sesame Street were named after Bert and Ernie in the movie.
By the way... Your photo at http://www.mirrorproject.com/themes/archive/?id=8275&themeid=89 looks great! That's what brought me here. :)

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Go out and buy gifts, or shop online/mail order?
Mostly online, but there are some things that I get in the store because I see it and think it's a great gift.
- Gift cards/certificates or pick out gifts?
I prefer to pick out gifts, but a few people usually get gift certificates.
- Pay cash or charge holiday gifts?
Usually charge. I don't like to carry that much cash on me and since most of them are bought online, that's not even an option.
- Are most of your gifts mailed or given in person?
Given in person.
- Are you an early-bird or last-minute holiday shopper?
Early-bird. I usually have all my shopping done by the end of the first week in December at the latest.
- If you shop in stores...big chain stores or smaller specialty stores?
Usually big chain.
- Wrap gifts yourself or have them wrapped at the store or mall?
I can't wrap a gift to save my life. I either beg someone to wrap them for me or pay to have it done.
- Shopping on *Black Friday* (day after Thanksgiving)...did you or didn't you?
Didn't. I would never brave that insanity.
- Is your holiday gift list large or small?
Relatively small.
- Is it better to give or to receive?
If it's a good gift - receive! I do love to give presents, though.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Long or short hair?
Long hair. I've never had hair shorter than below my shoulder blades. Always been long.
- Microwave or conventional oven?
Microwave oven. I'm lucky if I can turn on the regular oven.
- Plain or Peanut M&M's?
Tough call. Usually plain, but peanuts are good too.
- "101 Dalmations"...animated or live-action version?
Never saw the live and I love the animated, so animated.
- Drink out of bottle/can or pour into a glass?
Out of the can. I'm a heathen with no manners.
- Sunlight or moonlight?
Moonlight. I hate the sun. Just ask Christine.
- Kermit the Frog or Miss Piggy?
Kermit, I guess. I'm ambivalent.
- Glasses or contact lenses (or neither)?
Glasses when at home, contacts when out in the world.
- Action movies or chick flicks?
Toughie again but I'll go with chick flicks since lots of action movies have been crappy lately.
- Toilet seat...up or down?
Down or else the cat drinks out of it!

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Hershey's Kisses: with or without almonds?
Without. I don't like almonds.
- Wizard of Oz: Scarecrow or Tin Man?
The Scarecrow. He was so wise.
- Meat eater or vegetarian?
Meat eater.
- Buy books or borrow them?
Buy books. I love books too much not to be able to reread them whenever I want.
- At the bank: ATM or human teller?
ATM.
- Oil or gas (or other) heat?
Whatever. Just keep me warm.
- Pen or pencil?
Pen to write with, pencil to put my hair up in a bun.
- Drive or use public transit?
Drive.
- Who IS James Bond: Sean Connery or Pierce Brosnan (or any of the others in between)?
I've only seen two Bonds films (one of them was that awful movie Tomorrow Never Dies with Denise Richards; I hate her), so I could go either way, but I'll pick Sean because, damn!, that man is still pretty hot.
- Your ideal breakfast: full (bacon/sausage, eggs, pancakes, etc) or continental (bagels, muffins, fruit, cereal)?
Most of the times it's something light, but I love a big breakfast even now and then!

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Art or science museum?
I've probably been to the science museum more (and definitely the most recently), but I wish I visited art museums more. I'll say science, though, because I love dinosaurs. lol
- Play or watch sports?
Neither. I hate sports.
- Zoo or circus?
Zoo. I love animals and I hate clowns. No contest.
- Theater: film or live on stage?
I would like to visit live theater more (the production of The Lion King that I went to blew a lot of movies away), but it's usually film.
- Rock concert or the symphony?
It's so weird, but I have never been to the symphony. I love classical music, was in band in school, so it's just so strange that I've never gone. I'll say rock concert, but let's make it Sting or Tori Amos.
- Movies: see them in a theater or wait for DVD/VHS?
It used to be see them in the theater, but I hate going to the movies now since someone has always brought their screaming infant or lets their cell phone ring incessantly. It's wait now for the most part.
- Board games or computer/video games?
I love board games, but it's computer/video games that own my soul (Anyone up for a littleEverQuest?).
- Hobbies: crafts (art, cooking, home repair, etc) or collecting (coins, stamps, rocks, etc)?
Collecting.
- Watch TV or read a book?
I do a lot of both, so this is a hard choice. If it was never read a book again or never watch tv again, reading would win out.
- Eating out: fancy, white-tablecloth restaurant or casual dining?
Casual dining.

- The Cosby Show or A Different World?
The Cosby Show was way better though I did watch A Different World for a while.
- Happy Days or Joanie Loves Chachi?
I really liked Happy Days and I never saw an episode of Joanie Loves Chachi, so Happy Days.
- Cheers or Frasier?
Cheers was a great show, but I just adore Frasier. The whole cast is just so funny, especially Frasier and Niles.

I never watched Melrose Place and I used to love 90210, so 90210 it is.
- Real World or Road Rules?
I've only seen a few of the Real Worlds, but I used to get sucked into one of the marathons if I happened to pass by it. Never saw a Road Rules.
- Law & Order: SVU or CI?
Haven't seen either of them.
- The Osbournes or The Anna Nicole Show?
Haven't seen either of these.
- Diff'rent Strokes or The Facts of Life?
I used to watch both of them, but I liked The Facts of Life better.
- VeggieTales or 321 Penguins!?
Haven't seen either of these two.
- Degrassi or Degrassi: the Next Generation?
Man! Fourth question where I hadn't seen either show!

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- DisneyLand or DisneyWorld?
DisneyLand. I went there once as a kid and loved it. Plus, I just am convinced Florida is teeming with bugs and aligators and won't go there.
- Amusement park or Themed park?
Amusement park. I love roller coasters!
- Seashore or Mountains?
Seashore, of course. After all, I am a fishgirl.
- Hotel/Motel or rental house?
Hotel/motel for sure. Part of the fun of a vacation is being taken care of.
- Guided tour or aimless meandering?
Aimless meandering. I have a few things, usually, that I want to see, and the rest I am cool with wandering around and finding stuff.
- Drive or Fly or Boat?
Fly or boat if it's a cruise.
- Close or far away from home?
Either, but I would love to do some more far away from home traveling.
- Daytrip or by the week?
By the week definitely.
- Camping in a tent or the Holiday Inn?
Holiday Inn. You will never find me camping.
- Rent a car or drive your own?
Rent, probably, since we never go anywhere that's within driving distance. Otherwise, our own.

I perfer Disney World myself. EPCOT Center is a pretty cool place with: Spaceship Earth, Innoventions, Horizons, World of Motion / Test Track, Journey Into Imagination, The Living Seas and IllumiNations. Plus you're near the KSC launch facilities and NASA. There's a lot of things to do in the area. Of course, I'm from Colorado and land-locked, but beaches are always keen. Been to Florida several times.
BTW -- I found this BLOG through picture yourself. Very nice photo.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Heroines: Ariel (Little Mermaid) or Belle (Beauty & the Beast)?
Ariel definitely. The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie period.
- More heroines: Mulan or Pocahontas?
Hmmm. I guess Mulan, but Pocahontas was cool too.
- Princesses: Snow White or Cinderella?
Cinderella. She seemed more capable than Snow White.
- Toy Story: Buzz or Woody?
Both, but if I have to choose, probably Woody.
- Animals: Simba (Lion King) or Bambi?
Simba.
- Naughty boys: Peter Pan or Pinocchio?
Pinocchio. Peter Pan always vaguely annoyed me.
- Sidekicks: Sebastian the Crab (Little Mermaid) or Jiminy Cricket (Pinocchio)?
Sebastian for sure.
- Villains: Wicked Queen (Snow White) or Cruella DeVil (101 Dalmations)?
Cruella DeVil. How can you argue with that sense of style? Besides, if she was truly a wicked queen, she would've cut Snow White's heart out on her own.
- Classics: Goofy or Pluto?
Pluto. Goofy was annoying.
- And of course: Mickey or Donald?
Definitely Donald. Mickey Mouse annoys the shit out of me, little goody two-shoes brown-noser.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:

I've never seen "Gone With The Wind" all the way through and I love "The Wizard of Oz," so "Wizard" it is.

- "Saturday Night Fever" or "Grease"?
Never seen "Saturday Night Fever" so it's go to be "Grease."

I saw "Citizen Kane" and didn't really like it, but I haven't seen "Casablanca," but I'm picking it anyway.

I wasn't a huge fan of "You've Got Mail," so despite only seeing some of "When Harry Met Sally," I'm choosing it.

Boy, you weren't kidding about Bridget Jones' Diary! I thought the book was hilarious, and the movie was just SO awful and clunky by comparison . . . plus they made Bridget so dumb, and such a loser . . . they completely lost the flavor of the marvelous, crisp, witty self-deprecating humor in the book. Sheesh!

"American Pie."
- George W. Bush or Curious George?
Aren't they one and the same? ;-) I'll definitely have to go with Curious George on this one.

Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Paper or plastic?
Paper. We use them as trash bags.
- Stripes or plaid?
Stripes. Especially on panties from Victoria's Secret.
- Baseball or football?

It used to be movies and I never watched any TV, but with the Tivo, all I watch any more is TV shows that I want to watch.
- Craig Kilborn or Conan O'Brien?
Good Lord. Neither.
- Amazon or BN.com?
Amazon for sure! I've pretty much started buying almost everything from them since I always get gift certificates to them for doing surveys and cashing in points at places like Milesource. How else do you think I got my $400 digital camera basically for free? :-)
- Yahoo or Google?
Google. Where I am number one for both Kymberlie and neurotic. :-)
- Star Trek or Star Wars?
Probably Star Trek, though I've really only watched Deep Space Nine, which I loved, and Voyager, which I really liked by the time they cancelled it.

Sean Connery. I do like Sean Penn, though. He's turned into a hell of an actor. He was incredible in Dead Man Walking.
- Jennifer Lopez or Jennifer Aniston?
Jennifer Aniston definitely. Not only is she beyond beautiful, I totally hate Jennifer Lopez. I so don't get the hype surrounding her. I don't even think she's pretty.
- Courtney Love or Courtney Cox-Arquette?
Neither. They are both annoying as hell.
- Sarah Michelle Gelllar or Sarah Jessica Parker?
Sarah Jessica Parker.
- Michael Douglas or Mike Myers?
I love Mike Myers, but I probably have liked more movies by Michael Douglas.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Dr. Seuss characters: the Cat in the Hat or the Grinch?
The Grinch, but not the annoying Jim Carrey version. Original cartoon only!
- "Anne of Green Gables" or "Little Women"?
If you can believe it, I never read either, but I liked the movie "Little Women" so I'll pick that one.
- Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys?
Nancy Drew. Smart women rule!
- Winnie the Pooh characters: Tigger or Eeyore?
I love both of them, but since Tigger was my nickname when I was a kid (I loved to bounce on things!), I'll choose him.
- Which author: Judy Blume or Beverly Cleary?
Judy Blume.
- Roald Dahl books: "Charlie & the Chocolate Factory" (Willy Wonka) or "James & the Giant Peach"?
Never read either and only seen Willy Wonka, so I'll pick it.
- "Harry Potter" or "The Wizard of Oz"?
As much as I like "The Wizard of Oz" I have got to say Harry Potter. They are absolutely some of the best books I've ever read hands-down.
- Curious George or Madeline?
Curious George. My favorite one was where he swallowed the puzzle piece and had to go to the hospital. I loved that book.
- "A Wrinkle in Time" or "Little House on the Prairie"?
I loved both of these series as a kid, but if I had to pick a favorite I would say "Little House." I read all of those books multiple times. Wonderful books.
- Dr. Seuss again: "Horton Hears a Who" or "The Lorax"?
The Lorax!

Designer names.

Casual. Big time.
- Days off style: dressy or casual?
Casual. Bigger time.

High heels.
- Do you have a large wardrobe, or just a few carefully selected pieces?
I don't know if I would call them carefully selected pieces, but I definitely don't have a large wardrobe.
- Do you shop for clothing at stores or from catalogs/internet?
Almost always stores. I sometimes get t-shirt, jeans, and undies from Victoria's Secret though.
- Are most of your clothes dry-clean only or machine-washable?
Machine-washable.
- You buy an article of clothing and realize it is all wrong for you when you get home. Return or keep it?

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton?
Charlie Chaplin.
- Laurel & Hardy or Abbott & Costello?
Abbott & Costello. I love the "Who's on first?" bit.
- Marx Brothers or Three Stooges?
Marx Brothers. I hate the Three Stooges.
- David Letterman or Jay Leno?
David Letterman. I think Jay Leno is so unfunny.
- "Saturday Night Live" or "Mad TV"?
I used to watch SNL all the time, but that was so long ago.
- Adam Sandler ("Mr. Deeds") or Mike Myers ("Austin Powers")?
Depends. I loved "Happy Gilmore" but didn't thing "Big Daddy" was funny. I love Mike Myers in almost everything (though some of the stuff in Austin Powers, like Fat Bastard, I don't find funny at all). I guess we'll go with Mike Myers.
- Jerry Seinfeld or Ray Romano ("Everybody Loves Raymond")?
Good Lord! Neither! I can't stand either of them.
- George Carlin or Bill Cosby?
Bill Cosby.
- "Monty Python's Flying Circus" or "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In"?
Monty Python, of course!
- Gone but not forgotten...John Belushi or Chris Farley?
Chris Farley. I love "Tommy Boy."

Tommy Boy is one of my VERY VERY favorite movies ever. "Richard, look what you did!" as he opens the car door and it falls off makes me giggle uncontrollably!

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Rented lodgings, or staying with friends/relatives?
I guess this one would depend, but probably rented.
- Lots of activities, or just lying around doing nothing?
A combo, but more activities than laying around.
- Blogging while on vacation...yes or no?
Usually I don't have access to computer while on vacation, but if I did, I would probably do some blogging.
- If you have children and/or pets...bring them along or make other arrangements?
Leave them (can't take fish tanks with you).
- Do you cook while away on vacation, or eat out every day?
Eat out. Of course we mostly do this now.
- Do you pack light and plan to do laundry while away, or overpack and wash everything when you get home?
Overpack and wash when we get home.
- Drive to your vacation spot, or take some kind of public transportation?
Public transportation unless it's close by.
- If you have a cell phone...on or off while away?
Steven leaves his on, but I never take mine (I'd have to pay roaming fees).
- Bring work along or not?
Hell no!
- Returning home with more stuff than you originally took with you...yes or no?
Yes.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Fast-food or regular (sit-down) restaurant?
If you mean where do I eat more, probably fast food since I go to one for lunch almost every day. If, however, you mean what do I prefer, it's a regular restaurant.
- If or when you go to fast-food places...drive-through or walk in?
Drive-through usually.
- Any restaurant food...eat in or take out?
Eat in for regular restaurants; take out for others and things like pizza.
- You are at a restaurant and are too full to finish your meal. Do you leave it, or ask to have it wrapped up to go?
Have it wrapped up if I think either Steven or I will eat it the next day. I used to be really bad about getting it to go and leaving it on the table.
- Where does most of your food come from...restaurants or the grocery store?
Probably restaurants.
- Do you shop for food at a supermarket or a convenience store?
Supermarket with convenience stores only for emergencies or movie snacks.
- You have 13 items in your cart. Do you try to go through the *12 Items of Less* express line or grit your teeth and get into the regular line?
I would probably get in the twelve item lane.
- If you shop at a store that has them, do you use the regular or self-scan checkouts?
I don't shop at one that does. Those are still a little freaky to me and I'm not sure if I'd use them.
- Paper or plastic - Part One...what kind of bags do you take?
Paper. We use them for trash bags.
- Paper or plastic - Part Two...which payment method do you use when buying food?
Usually Steven buys the groceries and he uses plastic. I do too when I buy them for the most part.

- Cats or dogs?
Used to be cats, but it's probably more dogs now.
- Lions or tigers?
Tigers!
- Cows or pigs?
Cows, but I am ambivalent on this one.
- Turtles or frogs?
Turtles. As a matter of fact, Steven calls me his terrapin turtledove.
- Elephants or giraffes?
Giraffes. Besides, elephants are the GOP's symbol. ;-)
- Butterflies or birds?
Butterflies.
- Deer or moose?
Mooooose. I have a whole story about them.
- Goldfish or swordfish?
Why, goldfish, of course!
- Bunny rabbits or ferrets?
Bunny rabbits, though who can resist a marmot?
- Horses or unicorns?
Unicorns!

Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Spam...the lunch meat. Yes or no?
Blah! No way!
- The traffic light is green as you approach, but by the time you get there, it has turned yellow. Stop or go-go-go?
Depends, but more than likely go-go-go. If you don't go in Texas, you'll get rear-ended.
- You are taking a trip...you have to decide whether to fly or take some sort of ground transportation. High or low?
High.
- Someone asks you a question about why something is, and you don't know the answer. Try to find out *Why* or just say *I don't know*?
Usually I try and find out why.
- You are at the mall, and you spot someone who tortured you when you were in high school. Hello or goodbye?
Probably goodbye. Why bother talking to them now?

Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Popcorn at the movies: buttered or not?
I used to not like it buttered, but now I do.
- Sometimes you feel like a nut..sometimes you don't...Mounds or Almond Joy?
Blah. Neither.
- Chips or pretzels?
Chips, but I do like pretzels.
- Milky Way or Snickers?
Snickers.
- M&M's or Reese's Pieces?
Reese's Pieces!
- McDonald's or Burger King?
McDonald's for fries, Burger King for burgers (good thing they're right next to each other by my house!).
- Vanilla Coke or Pepsi Twist?
Blech! Neither. Cherry Coke instead.
- Hostess Twinkies or Cupcakes?
Not a fan of either.
- Hershey's Kisses or Hugs?
I like both of these, but probably the Kisses best.
- Original Mountain Dew or Code Red?
Another blech. Neither.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Regular or electric/battery operated toothbrush?
Regular.
- Shower or bath?
Shower, though I used to take a long bath every Thursday while Steven was at poker. I would listen to music and read; it was very relaxing. Maybe I should start that back up again. I can't get my hair clean in a bath since it's so long.
- Automatic dishwasher or hand-wash dishes?
Since it's just the two of us and we don't have a lot of dishes, we handwash. I don't think I've ever seen the dishwasher ran in the almost five years I've known Steven.
- Paying bills: online or write out checks?
For the most part, checks. I only pay one credit card online and that's because it's free to do so.
- Laundromat or your own washer/dryer?
We have our own, but don't ask me how to operate it!
- Electric or gas stove?
Electric, but again, don't ask me how to operate it. I have no domestic skills to speak of.
- Subscribe to magazines/newspapers or buy at newsstand?
Subscribe.
- Alarm clock...music or buzzer?
Buzzer, though it's really Steven telling me to get up that makes me wake up.
- Go grocery shopping yourself, or order stuff to be delivered?
I always wanted to get the stuff delivered before Grocery Works went bankrupt, but Steven never liked the idea and since he buys the groceries, it was his call.
- On workdays...pack a lunch or eat out?
Eat out. I never bring a lunch.

LOL! You are even less domestic than me! Tee, hee! :D Although, having a house is making me a little more domestic as I find myself trying to keep it neat and nice-looking now that 1) we have people over more often and 2) it's such a nice place to begin with I don't want it looking bad.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Laptop or desktop computer?
Desktop. I just don't know if I would like a laptop all that much.
- PC or Mac?
PC. I've never even used a Mac.
- DVD or VHS?
Though I have a ton of VHS tapes (mostly at my parents' house), all I buy or rent now is DVD.
- Cell phone or regular phone?
Both, though I'm more likely to e-mail you than call you. I do notice that I spend most of my talk time on the cell.
- Satellite or cable TV?
Cable.
- X-Box or PlayStation?
Playstation. If the Playstation II drops $50 more, I may buy one.
- Netflix or video store?
Since we rarely rent movies anymore, we use the video store. If we rented more, I would do Netflix.
- Wide-screen or regular TV?
Regular, but I wish I had a wide-screen!
- Film or digital camera?
Digital, but I think I'll always have both.
- Dial-up or high-speed internet connection?
High-speed. I could never go back to a dial-up.

I'm curious...Why would you want to waste money of film or developing when you have a good digital camera?
Posted by Anne at June 4, 2002 03:32 PM
Just had to say that we rarely rented movies anymore 'til we joined Netflix. Having the convenience of watching whenever we want with no due dates -- and the time to browse rather than the pressure of getting in and out of the store w/o fighting a million little toddlers in our paths -- has changed our lives!

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Christine's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Charcoal or gas BBQ grill?
Ummm, I don't even know how to turn one of these on, much less cook. Either.
- Beach or pool?
Beach! I love the sand.
- Sneakers or sandals?
Sandals. I adore the Karen Scott suede sandals that I got a few years ago from Foley's for about $5.00.
- Sunblock or suntan lotion?
Suntan lotion.
- Iced tea or iced coffee?
Iced coffee! Blech! The only iced tea I like my grandmother used to make me. I've never cared for any others.
- Touristy beach town or quiet camping trip?
Touristy beach town. No way would you ever get me to go camping.
- Theme park or baseball game?
Tough one! I love baseball games at Enron Astros Field, but I love going to Astroworld and riding the rides. I guess baseball game.
- One or two piece swimsuit? (ladies...which do you prefer to wear; guys, which would you prefer a woman to wear?)
Two piece. Especially the ones with the little short bottoms.
- Bicycling or rollerblading?
Bicycling.
- It's 95 degrees outside. Do you prefer to go outside in the heat, or stay in and hide behind the air-conditioner?
As I am fond of saying, the most outdoors I get is the top down on my Miata. Stay in and hide!

Bugs Bunny.
- Tom or Jerry?
Jerry.

Mickey Mouse.

The Simpsons. I have never seen an episode of South Park.
- Jetsons or Flintstones?
Flintstones, though both are very cool.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Which is worse: a driver riding your bumper or someone pulling out in front of you with their car?
I hate both, but probably someone pulling in front of me worse. That always scares me.
- Can you do 10 push ups?
God, I hope so! I haven't tried to, but I would say yes.
- Do you bathe/shower in the morning or in the evening (or at all)?
In the evening. With my hair being so long (middle of my back) it takes forever to dry and I don't have enough time in the morning to screw with it.
- Michael or Janet Jackson?
Janet. Ms. Jackson if you're nasty.
- Which do you enjoy most? Your bedroom or living room?
Hmmmm. Different reasons competing here. Even though the living room has the Tivo, I'm going to say bedroom.
- Bathroom or kitchen?
Bathroom. I don't cook at all.
- Crayons or markers?
Crayons. I am obsessed with them and used to have boxes and boxes of them.
- Leaves falling or flowers blooming?
Flowers blooming.
- Fred and Wilma or Barney and Betty?
Toughie. I'll saw Fred and Wilma.
- Fame or fortune?
Fortune. I would never want to be famous. Too much of a hassle.

This-or-That Tuesday
Since I love Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday, I think I'll do it today. :-)
- Is your mouse pad plain or decorated?
At work my mousepad is round with the 4 Guys logo on it. At home, it was one with Mulder and Scully on it from Fight the Future, The X-Files Movie, but Steven's brother got me this MouseRug. It's a mouse pad that's shaped like a Persian rug. It even has fringe on the bottom and top. Steven really likes is, so I might buy this one instead and give him my old one.
- Do you own a web cam? Yes or no?
I own one that my brother gave me, but it's never even been plugged up.
- Which do you do use more often online: email or search?
Search.
- Do you use HTML coding, WYSIWYG editor, or something else to create your web pages?
I use the HTML editor in CuteFTP. I do love Dreamweaver and HomeSite, though.
- Do you forward chain emails?
No way.
- Do you forward those mushy stories that take 20 minutes to read?
No way again.
- How large is your monitor: 14", larger, or smaller?
I have a 19" at work and at home.
- Do you have a mouse with a scroller, one with two buttons, one with three?
One with a scroller at work and at home. I can't use a computer without one now.
- Do you listen to music while surfing the web? Yes or no?
Usually.
- How often do you clear your cookies, or cache?
There's a few sites that it's hard to get around on if you don't clear your cache, so I do that every day. I never clear my cookies, though.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Do you eat food if it hits the floor? Yes or no?
Guilty. I do.
- Chinese food or Italian?
The only Chinese food I really eat is Chinese Cafe's shredded chicken in white sauce and shrimp fried rice, but I adore Italian food, especially lasagna.
- Ice cream or yogurt?
Ice cream. Yogurt is nasty.
- Do you eat breakfast? Yes or no?
I do during the week, usually a plain english muffin from McDonald's with grape jelly or occasionally a donut. During the weekend I don't get up until 2:00 p.m. or later, so I don't think you can count that as breakfast.
- Have you ever eaten a bug? Yes or no?
We get those little bitty sugar ants in the house and one time there was one on my toothbrush and I didn't notice until I was finished brushing my teeth. Does that count?
- Soft drink from a can, bottle, or glass?
Can.
- Do you consume 5 fruits and vegetables a day?
Nope.
- Apple or orange?
Orange, but I like apple (both the fruit and the flavor) too.
- Pork rinds or sardines?
Good lord, neither.
- Caviar or grits?
What is with these nasty foods? Neither of these as well.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Do you answer the phone on the first ring? Yes or no?
No, because usually I have to go find the phone. We finally got caller ID, so now I wait even if the phone is near.
- Which is worse: door-to-door salesmen or telemarketers?
Telemarketers! I hate them!
- Which is worse: the phone company or the oil company?
The phone compnay, I guess. Don't feel strongly about this one one way or the other.
- Phone number: write it down or remember it?
Write it down.
- When you tell a date, "I'll call you," do you mean it? Yes or no?
It would depend. I didn't ever really date (went from one long-term relationship to Steven with a year and a half off or so in between), but I did have a few friends try to set me up and some of those people were FREAKS! Those people I would say it to, just to get away.
- Do you own one phone? Two? Three? More?
More. Three in the house (two downstairs and one upstairs) and my cell phone.
- Have you purchased anything by phone? Yes or no?
Yes, but it's been a while.
- Have you ever called someone and then hung up before you spoke? Yes or no?
I used to do this all the time in elementary school with my crush. I guess caller ID really puts a damper on doing that anymore, huh?
- Do you own an answering machine?
Yes.

Time for Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday (even though it's Friday. Got to make up for lost blogging time!):
- For gals: Panties -- Thongs, bikinis, or briefs?
Bikinis, for the most part, though thongs some times. I used to wear thongs constantly, but I've gotten away from that over the last couple of years.
- For guys: Briefs, boxers, or boxer briefs?
Steven wears briefs most of the times, but he wears boxer briefs too. I think boxer briefs are the best underwear that a guy can wear.
- Movable Type, Blogger, or Greymatter?
Movable Type all the way, baby! Movable Type totally rocks!
- Rabbits or hamsters?
Hamsters! I had a russian dwarf hamster named Quicksilver when I was in college and he was the cutest thing. Every time I go into a pet store, I really want another one.
- Electric or gas home?
Electric. I would probably blow a gas home up.
- Mud between your toes: comforting or disgusting?
Disgusting, but I do love wet sand between my toes.
- Question mark or exclamation point?
Exclamation point!
- Is it hot where you live? Yes or no?
Usually, since I live in Texas. Today, though, no.
- Is your monitor currently dusty? Yes or no?
No. I try to keep my monitor very clean.
- Would you rather have an abundance of love, sex, or money in your life?
Love.

Spawn, though the Spiderman movie is going to kick the Spawn movie's ass.
- Do you Spring Clean or not?
Hell no. I don't even clean regularly.
- Do you check your email once every hour, more often, or less often?
More often.
- Do you have one or more email accounts?
More. I try to only use one for personal mail, but my e-mail provider has issues and I'm having to use more than one to get everything. I will be moving to one for personal, though, as soon I can.
- Stiff as a board or light as a feather?
Light as a feather.
- Float like a butterfly or sting like a bee?
Float like a butterfly.
- Both feet on the floor or head up in the clouds?
Head up in the clouds.

Walk. Like Val Kilmer says in Real Genius, I only run when chased.
- Thistle or dandelions?
Dandelions. They're prettier.
- Birds singing or crickets chirping?
Birds singing. Crickets are annoying.
- Allergies or none?
Used to be none, but lately I get headaches around some smells. Is that an allergy?
- A, B, C or 1, 2, 3?
1, 2, 3
- "Easy as pie" or "simple as cake?"
"Easy as pie."
- Trampoline or swimming pool?
Swimming pool. I would kill myself on a trampoline. Of course, I can't swim either, so I can kill myself in a pool as well, but I love the water.
- Nickel or penny?
Penny! I used to collect pennies when I was a kid. Love pennies.
- Basketball or baseball?
Baseball, definitely. Love baseball games, especially since Enron Field (or whatever it's going to be called now) is such a cool park. When we were kids, my brother and I were Astro Buddies and used to go to tons of games with my parents and my grandmother on my dad's side. She was a huge baseball fan and I guess we inherited our love for the game from her.
- Sliding doors or French doors?
French doors, I guess. The look nicer, but we had sliding doors all over the place at my parents' house, so they're more nostalgic to me.

I've tried to send you 2 e-mails but they are bouncing back. I was just wondering where you get the This-or-That questions each week? Thanks!

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday:
- "Blah, blah, blah..." or "yadda, yadda, yadda...?"
"Blah, blah, blah." Can't you tell I hang out with Christine?
- English or math?
English was always my favorite, but I was pretty good at calculus.
- VHS or DVD?
DVD all the way, baby!
- Jeans or pants?
Jeans. I wear them to work every day (love casual work environments!). I only own like two pairs of pants and only wear them out to clubs or job interviews (one pair are slacks and the other pair are hot pants).
- Art or Music?
Music. I even marched the bass drum in high school.
- Near or far?
Near.
- Nestle's or Hershey's?
Hershey's. I do not drink chocolate drinks.
- Who was/is the best James Bond: Sean Connery or Piers Brosnan?
Well, the only Bond films I've seen (all two of them) had Pierce Bronson, but since I thought the movies were stupid, I'll say Sean Connery.
- Triangle or rectangle?
Triangle.
- Chat or not?
Pretty much only with Christine or my brother. I used to chat on ICQ for hours at a time, but now it's mostly work-related.

This-or-That Tuesday
Time for Ashley's This-or-That Tuesday:
- Train or boat?
This is kind of a tough one. I rode in tons of trains when I stayed in England with my aunt and uncle for six weeks and completely loved their train system. On the other hand, I love water. I guess I would have to say boat, if I had to pick.
- Lake or ocean?
Definitely the ocean. I love the beach and I love watching the surf.
- Thoughtful or perceptive?
Probably a little of both, but I would have to pick perceptive. In school I was always the person who knew how people felt about things and people without ever having to be told.
- Observant or participative?
It depends on the situation. If it's something I enjoy or want to try out, definitely participative. If it's something I'm ambivalent about, I'd rather watch others and see what they do. I like to people watch.
- Line or curve?
Curve. They look so much nicer.
- Capitalize or lowercase?
Incorrect grammar drives me absolutely crazy, so I only capitalize words that are supposed to be capitalized. I even use correct capitalization in my IMs. I know. I'm a dork.
- Giraffe or zebra?
Giraffes are so funny looking, especially when they run, so giraffes.
- Shiny or matte?
Depends, but probably matte.
- Oil or vinegar?
Oil. Especially with bread. :-)
- Sand or clay?
Definitely sand. I love to play in the sand. When I was a senior in high school I was an art aide (read "slave to the art teachers") and I used to love to go hide in the supply closet and play in the bucket of sand they have. I love just touching it.

Is this one yours or does it come from somewhere else? Some of these questions are a little... well... vague, right?

I did this survey over on my blog as well and read yours after I finished mine - we put very similar answers!! :D

This-or-That Tuesday
Ashley's This or That Tuesday:
- Dial-up or cable? Cable! After being on a cable modem, I could never go back to dial-up.
- Wal-mart or K-mart? Wal-Mart. There's one not too far from my house and I think they tend to have a better selection of stuff than K-Mart.
- Butterfly or dragonfly? Hmmm. I like both, but if I had to pick, I'd choose butterfly.
- Plus or minus? Plus.
- Liberal or conservative?Liberal. Big time.
- Do you believe in God or not? Yes.
- Sun or moon? Moon. I cannot go outside during the day without sunglasses. I am very light sensitive, plus I just feel drawn to the moon and find it incredibly beautiful.
- Do you exercise regularly or not? Yes. I go to the gym three or four times a week and Steven and I are planning on buying a StairMaster FreeClimber 4600 PT some time later in the year.
- Coffee or tea? Blah. Neither.
- St. Patrick's Day or Easter? I could give or take either of them, but St. Patrick's Day means my birthday is tomorrow, so St. Patrick's Day!

Last question: I'd switch the two. I'd nail a leprechaun up on a cross, steal his pot of Gold, and then take Jesus out to get drunk with his apostles.

This-or-That Tuesday
Ashley's This or That:
- January or July?
July, I guess. July is too hot in Houston, but January is far too cold.
- E-mail or letters?
E-mail. I haven't written a letter since I was in college when I was writing letters to a good friend after a painful break-up.
- Milk or orange juice?
Orange juice with lots of pulp. I hate milk.
- Brunette or blond?
Blonde. We have more fun. :-)
- Digital or film camera?
Digital
- Camping or hotel?
Hotel. I don't camp. The most outdoors I get is the top down on my Miata.
- Pencil or pen?
Pen, preferably with a pretty color ink.
- Rollerblading or roller skating?
I used to rollerskate a lot as a kid, but I don't do either now. Rollerskating, though, since we're choosing.

Fly if it's further away than Austin.
- White or black?
Black.

This-or-That Tuesday
I stole Ashley's This or That? from Kristine's site.
- Coke or Pepsi?
Coke! Cherry Coke is my favorite, though I wish they had kept the cool blue and black cans from the early nineties. Pesi is evil.
- McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chicken?
McDonald's. Love those fries!
- Pizza or subs?
Pizza, but with pepperoni (and lots of it!) only.
- Nintendo or PlayStation?
Playstation.
- One credit card or more?
More.
- Photos of people or photos of nature?
Probably people to keep, but of nature for calendars and things like that.
- In the car, do you listen to the radio or CDs/tapes?
CDs for the most part.
- Would you rather see a dentist or a doctor?
Depends on what kind of doctor! If it's the chick doctor, that would be a tough one! GPs over the dentist, though.
- Did you watch the Super Bowl or not?
Nope. Watched Rose Red that I had on the Tivo.
- American or non-American made car?
Foreign; I love my Mazda Miata!
