Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Blood
What is something that I, like most people, don't like to see? There's a reason I'm not a doctor.

2. Sweat
What is something I plan on doing a lot more since I'm going to start StairMastering forty minutes a day three times a week.

3. Tears
What is something I cry a lot of when I get drunk on Friday nights and listen to mp3s? Sad, but funny, I know. :-)

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Elementary School
What was an okay time, but I don't really remember a great deal of? I do remember that I was picked on a fair amount, but nothing too bad.

2. High School
What is a pretty good time in my life? I was in band and we kicked ass, I had some really good friends, and I was generally pretty happy.

3. College
What is something that I regret all I did was work and study while I was there? I never went to parties or had any fun in college. Shame I didn't take advantage of that when I could.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Canoe
What is something that I've never been in and probably never will be? I'm not exactly what you call an outdoors type and I don't really know how to swim.

2. Books
What is something that there is no way I could live without? I read constantly and usually finish a book or two a week. I spend a good portion of my spare or down time reading and there is no way I could give books up.

3. Vodka
What is the one hard liquor that I like? My favorite type of vodka, though, is vanilla vodka. That stuff rocks!

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Fall
What is something that is a relief in Texas? Fall means that the temperature starts to go down (at least a little bit) and give everyone a respite from the heat. I wish that we had more trees that changed colors and someday I would like to go up north and watch the foliage change.

2. Vacation
What is something that I can never get enough of and wish I had a lot more of? I love taking vacations, even if it's just to stay home from work and do something around town with friends.

3. Travel
What is something that I intend to do a lot of before I die? I've made Steven promise that we will go to Paris, Italy, Australia, Greece, and The Bahamas at least.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Television
What is something that I watch a lot more of now that I have a Tivo? I used to not watch very many shows because I usually get home so late on weeknights that they're all over with. Now with my Tivo I record a ton of shows and watch them when I get home. I love my Tivo!

2. Radio
What is something that I used to listen to a lot both at work and in the car, but never listen to now? I've gotten where all I listen to at work is mp3s and in the car I listen pretty much to my CDs.

3. Newspaper
What is something I used to read all the time from middle school to college (mostly for the entertainment section, I admit), but only read now on very rare occasions? It's funny, though, but with the Internet I am more aware of the news than when I regularly read the paper.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Cancer
What is something that I pray me, my friends, and my family don't ever get? Steven's uncle died from cancer last year and it was so sad watching him just wither away before our eyes. It will be a great day when we learn how to cure it.

2. Hospitals
What is something that I don't like? I pass out at doctor appointments occasionally, so the last place I want to go is the hospital!

3. Funerals
What is a very sad occasion, but can turn into kind of a nice time? When my grandpa on my dad's side died last year, family members that I hadn't seen in over five years all got together at my parents' house and we had a great time just catching up and seeing each other again.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Police
Who is someone that has a job I can't imagine having and someone who deserves incredible respect? I have such admiration and respect for policemen and women who, every day, go out and put their lives on the line so that we can be safer. If you happen to be a polie officer, thank you for all that you do.

2. Alcohol
What is something that I look forward to having on the weekend? A blender of raspberry piña coladas, a couple of shots of vanilla vodka, or a really good margarita definitely contributes to having a nice buzz and a great night.

3. Boobs
What is something of mine that I totally love? I have big boobs and I love them. They rock. :-)

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Doughnuts
What is something that I love to have for breakfast even though it's really bad for me? I love Shipley Do-Nuts more than any other brand. My favorites are their chocolate filled, their chocolate covered with nuts, and their plain glazed. Yummy.

2. Coffee
What is something that I find disgusting and I can't even imagine why people like it? I hate how coffee tastes and smells. The only thing remotely okay about coffee is the way the beans smell.

3. Summer
What is something that I used to love as a kid, but don't like as much anymore? Now during summertime, I wish it was the fall so all the damn kids would be in school and not clogging the mall, the movies, restaurants, etc. that I go to. Plus, it's just so hot.

Sunday Op-Ed

I didn't do it yesterday, so here's Chris' Sunday Op-Ed, a special Father's Day edition.

1. Dad
Who is someone who's very important to me, but I've always had a difficult relationship with? I love my father very much, but it's hard for me to share it with him. There's a lot of past hurt and love, but for the most part, things are good and I think we are at a good place in our relationship. I hope he knows how important he is to me.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Religion
What is something that I think the world could do without so much of? I think the world would be a lot better place if people focused more on spirituality than on religion and forcing their views on other people.

2. Politics
What is something that I wish I knew more about? I tend to go more with my heart on issues and should pay more attention to who's saying what and what people stand for.

3. Money
What is something that I wish I had more of and have been spending too much of lately? I can't wait until my salary adjustment goes into effect on July 1st and I start making more money!

1. Muppets
What is something that I used to watch all the time as a kid but never watch now? I even used to watch The Muppet Babies cartoon.

2. Pajamas
What is something that I don't sleep in? ;-) I have, however, bought a cute boxer set from Victoria's Secret. (It's the blue and red one.)

3. Science Fiction
What is something that I love to read, but don't read as much of as I used to?

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Painting
What is something that I wish I had talent and could do but I can't? My boyfriend, on the other hand, has amazing painting skills. He has a Nagel that he reproduced hanging above our fish tank and it is very cool.

2. Canada
What is some place I've never visited, but looks really pretty in pictures? On the other hand, I can't stand the cold (if it gets into the sixties in Houston I am freezing), so I don't know if it would be a good place for me to go.

3. Pets
What is something I adore and wish I had more of? Steven and I will get a puppy (probably a schnauzer) when we get a house. I had a russian dwarf hamster in high school and would love to get one again, but I don't see Steven falling for it. Also, when we get a house, we're planning on getting a fish tank around 125 gallons or so, so we'll have more fish too.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris's Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Poems
What is something that I wish I liked more? I do like some poems, but the majority of them, I just feel like I don't get it.

2. Short Stories
What is something that I love to read and consider a good one to be a gem? I love to read short stories, more so than novels. Every year I look forward to The Year's Best Fantasy and Horror annual collection by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling. The first thing I look at in book stores is always the anthologies, though sadly, it seems a rare thing to find a good one or one that I haven't read most of the stories before.

3. Novels
What is something I devour constantly? I love to read and read, on average, a book or two a week. I've been slacking off the past month or so, but I will read more soon. I just love to read!

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris' Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Mom
Who is someone that I love and admire more as I grow older? My mom is a fabulous woman and I am so glad that she's mine!

2. Flowers
What is something that I love to have around me, even if I have to buy them myself? I love roses and whenever Christine and I go to Wal-Mart, we always split some for our desk at work. Steven will surprise me with a boquet every now and then which really makes me happy.

3. Children
What is something that is fine in small doeses but I don't like to be around for a long time? I am one of those people that don't really like kids and if I have to spend more than an hour or so with them, it will drive me nuts. Needless to say, I don't play on having any.

Sunday Op-Ed

Another one of those "better late than never" posts, so here's Chris' Sunday Op-Ed.

1) Mexico
What is one of the few foreign countries I've been to (the others are Wales, Scotland, and England), but I was too young to remember it? Steven's brother Alex works down near the border and he keeps telling us we should go check it out. I would love to go to one of the coastal towns.

2) France
What is one of the many places that Steven has been to that I haven't and that I beg him to take me to all the time? We went up in the Eiffel Tower in Vegas, but I will visit Paris some day. It, Italy, and Greece are top on my list.

3) Tequila
What is something that tastes great in margaritas but I cannot fathom how people can shoot? Tequila shooters - blah!

Time for Chris' Sunday Op-Ed!

1) Thunderstorms
What is something that I love and wish we had more of at night? I love how they sound, feel, and smell.

2) Sex
What is a great way to spend some time?

3) Bubble Baths
What is something I used to do every Thursday while Steven played poker but don't do anymore? When we get a house, it's going to have one of those big, whirlpool tubs and I'll get back into this habit.

Sunday Op-Ed

Time for Chris' Sunday Op-Ed!

1. Cheesecake
What is something that I don't really like except for James Coney Island's Oreo cheesecake? Christine orders it every time we go there and is always sweet enough to grab two forks and share.

2. Wine
What is something that no matter how hard I've tried to like it, I just can't? I've always wanted to relax with a nice glass of wine, but I hate how it tastes. Blah.

3. Dancing
What is what we did last night and something we take lessons for every week? Steven and I took country and western lessons for about a year, took a little over two years off, and have been going back for the past seven months. I love to dance, whether it be two-stepping or just shaking my butt on the dance floor.

Sunday Op-Ed

I found a new weekly meme - Chris' Sunday Op-Ed.

1) Day Light Savings
What is an awful, horrible thing to do to a person? I hate having to lose an hour of sleep and it's a pain to figure out how to reset the clock in my car.

2) Elijah Wood
Who is an incredible actor that I always knew would be a gorgeous guy when he grew up? Of course, I hated that damn Lord of the Rings movie.

3) Music
What is something that I can't live without? Music has always been entwined in my life. I marched the bass drum and played percussion in high school, have a huge music collection, and love to sing (even though I'm not very good). I love all types of music.
