Eight From The Eighties

Here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) Is it going to be a cruel summer? Well, Houston summers are, by the very definition, cruel summers.

2) Are you where the heat is on? Yes, though after coming back from Arizona a few weeks ago, Houston seems fine!

3) How do you sleep while your beds are burning? Not very well. Luckily, though, I am one of those people that don't get hot too often.

4) I get delirious, whenever... I've stayed up too late at work. Right, Christine?

5) Everytime you go away, you... worry that I forgot something at home.

6) What happens in your wildest dreams? Usually I'm either killing someone or being chased by someone that wants to kill me. Pleasant, huh?

7) Are you an angel of the morning? Hell no. I hate mornings.

8) Tell me, tell me, tell me how to be a millionaire? I wish I knew! Hopefully, by making a decent salary and saving I'll accomplish it!

Eight From The Eighties

Here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) Girls of the world ain't nothin' but... oppressed for the most part. I am glad I don't live in a country like Afghanistan!

2) Who's the meaning in your life, who's your inspiration? Steven. (Awwwww.)

3) What do people like about you? (Bonus: Do you really know how to dance?) People like my sense of humor (or maybe that's just me), the fact that I am kind, a good friend, and my ability to know more useless trivia than anyone else. And yes, I really know how to dance. Steven and I take lessons (country and western) every week.

4) Are you an innocent wo/man? I am not an innocent and I have a man.

5) Is your house in the middle of your street? It's a condo and it's more towards the end of the building. :-)

6) Did you have Pac-Man fever? I've had all kinds of video game fever, but while I liked Pac-Man, I was never really obsessed with it. My dad, on the other hand, had both Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man fever big time.

7) Do you always feel like, somebody's watching you? And you have no privacy? (Woah, oh, oh, oh.) Nope. I never feel that way.

8) Why do they call it the blues? Because it's the color of sad, gloomy days.

Eight From The Eighties

Deb's Eight From The Eighties were posted today, so here's my take on them. :-)

1) Do you be illin'? Not recently, except for a minor cold back in May that nagged me for a week.

2) Who's simply the best? Better than all the rest? Steven. He is wonderful and I am glad every day that we have each other. :-)

3) Do you want to party all the time, party all the time, party all the time? I used to, but come the weekend, I mostly want to sit home, drink raspberry piña coladas, and do nothing.

4) Are you a maniac? About some things, yes.

5) Do you believe in spirits in the material world? I do. I think there is a whole world that exists that we aren't aware of except for certain times.

6) I got my mind set on... my upcoming business trip to a very chic resort and the spa treatments we get!

7) Do you love dirty laundry? The gossipy kind - yes. The literal kind - no way.

8) Say, say, say what you want. My domino luck this weekend sucks! My rating has plummeted.

Eight From The Eighties

It's late, but here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) As I look back upon my life, it's always with a sense of... pride. I was in a bad relationship, deep in debt, overweight, and unhappy. I am now in good shape, am in a great relationship, am good with money (though not that good lately!), and very happy.

2) What are you no-no-notorious for? Sadly, I would say cussing. A lot.

3) Have you found what you're looking for? For the most part. I still want a house and a lot of travel time, though!

4) Who can that be knocking at your door? Today it was Jeanna. We went to the movies and the half-price book store. It was a fun day!

5) Are you a family wo/man? Nope. I got my man. :-)

6) Girls just want to have... a happy life. I do anyway.

7) Some guys have all the... things their heart's desire. Others aren't so lucky.

8) I'm once, twice, three times a... neurotic fish girl.

Eight From The Eighties

Time for Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) What's in your room? The majority of my "stuff" is in my office/computer room. In my room is basically the bedroom furniture and I have a lot of books on and in my nightstand.

2) Do you have fame? No, but I would hate to be famous.

3) Are you on a road to nowhere? No. My life is going pretty well - good job, good man, and plans for the future.

4) Ooh, are you a little runaway? No.

5) Have you ever felt the earth move, under your feet? Trite, but I did when Steven and I started dating.

6) I've been waiting, for a... engagement ring! :-)

7) If you love somebody... tell them often and let them know how much they mean to you.

8) Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies. Actually, please don't. I hate nothing more than being lied to!

Eight From The Eighties

It seems that Deb's Eight From The Eighties will always be a Sunday instead of Saturday thing with me, so here they are!

1) Are you forever young? Yep! It always surprises me that I AM a grown-up with a car payment, insurance, medical bills, etc. How the hell did that happen?

2) Are you like a virgin? Like, no.

3) Are you looking for a new love, baby? No way! I like totally love my man! (Like the eighties slang?) Seriously, though, I am so happy with Steven, that no, I am not looking for a new love.

4) Are you in control? I wish. My biggest problem lately is that I feel very out of control in my (work) life. And since all I do is work or talk about work or think about work, I've been feeling very out of control. I need to stress less and let is all go.

5) Have you ever been where the streets have no name? Since I am perpetually lost when driving some where new, I always feel this way, even if it's not true.

6) Do you have a touch of grey? Not yet! ~crosses fingers~

7) When was the last time you celebrated good times? Friday night, just me and the boyfriend.

8) Are you wild an' willin' or is it just for show? Wild an' willin' usually, but I've been stressed and tired lately, so it's been a show.

Eight From The Eighties

Like they say, I'm always a day late and a dollar short, so here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) Have you been working for the weekend? I always work for the weekend. I love my job, I do, but I always feel like I'm under pressure (Look! Another cool 80s reference!) and the weekends are my chance to relax so I don't go postal and destroy anything.

2) Can you do magic? I wish I could. How cool would it be to be able to do real magic and not just stupid palor tricks?

3) Are you like a rock? Hmmm. Sort of. I am there for people when they need me, which is rock-like.

4) Who keeps you hangin' on? Steven, Christine, Trish, and Jeanna.

5) Are you runnin' down a dream? I am. As a matter of fact, Steven and I went and looked at some houses this week. We're still probably a few years away from buying on, but it's a goal and dream we're heading towards.

6) When's the last time you just got lucky? Friday. :-)

7) Do you go crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man/woman? Definitely! That was one of the things that attracted me to Steven. He looks damn good in a coat and tie.

8) Hit me with your best shot. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!

Eight From The Eighties

Since I didn't get to post much this weekend, here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) Do you want candy? I'm usually pretty good about not wanting candy, but if it's that time of the month, better not stand between me and some candy!

2) I wish they all could be ________ girls/boys. Tall, dark, handsome, and nice.

3) What dreams go on when you close your eyes? Usually my dreams are very violent and I kill lots of people. Lately, though, I haven't been remembering my dreams and having such vivid dreams as I usually do.

4) What takes your breath away? When we were in Vegas recently, the Fountains of Bellagio took my breath away. Sitting twenty-eight floors up, watching the fountains with Steven - they were amazing.

5) I was born in the... second biggest state in the union - Texas! I'm a rare breed, too - someone who lives in Houston who actually was born here. Most Houstonians are transplants from elsewhere.

6) Who drives you crazy? Telemarketers. I had one call me on Saturday morning at like 9:00 am. People who call me that early should die.

7) I don't know much, but I know... a billion useless facts on a myriad of strange subjects. Call me if you're going to be on Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?.

8) Where you going, what you looking for? Currently I am looking for a way to quickly pay off my big purchases and start saving for a house. Where I'll be going depends on how nice the house is. :-)

Eight From The Eighties

Here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) Are you under pressure? Yes, constantly. I a the project manager for just about all our clients and one or two of them are very high paying, high maintenance clients. I also take a lot of professional pride in my job and making my clients happy, so some of the pressure, granted, is pressure I put on myself.

2) Are you tuff enuff? Yes, I think. :-)

3) Are you a material girl/boy? To an extent. I want a really nice house, a nice car, and lots of things like computers, StairMasters, etc.

4) Do you pump up the volume, pump up the volume, etc.? Oh, yeah. As a matter of fact, just before we went to dinner, I had my Klipsch computer speakers turned way up.

5) No, my first name ain't baby, it's... Kimberly, or Kymberlie as I spell it.

6) I would die 4... another vacation!

7) I haven't ________ for the longest time. Dressed up and gone out (except for "O") in quite a while. Our weekends have become so casual.

8) Ever get on the floor and do the New Kids dance? Nope, not that I can recall.

Eight From The Eighties

Here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties!

1) My lucky number's... ironically enough, eight. I love eights. I also like fives and fours (because it's half of eight). I have a weird habit of doing things in groups of fours like taking sips, bites, steps, etc. Weird, huh?

2) Are you super freaky, yow? Probably not super freaky, but I do think I'm a bit of a freak.

3) Do you drink? Do you smoke? What do you do? I drink (usually just on the weekends, though), but I don't smoke.

4) What *do* boys like? Most of them like girls who are nice and fun to be with. I would hope that they also like girls who are smart and witty, but seriously. Who the hell knows what boys like? :-)

5) Is heaven a place on Earth? Sometimes, but I don't think it can be all the time.

6) Have you ever been in a bizarre love triangle? Nope, thank god.

7) Do you get physical, physical? Sure do! We just bought a new StairMaster PT 4600 and I go to the gym. Now that we bought the StairMaster, though, I will admit I'm a less likely to go to the gym and do weight training as well.

8) Shout, shout, let it all out. Arrrrggghhh! I've been feeling that way about stuff lately, but I think this next week should resolve some of the issues. Also, yeaahhhhh! I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow! w00t!

Eight From The Eighties

I doubt I will ever actually get one of these done on time, so here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties.

1) Do you find yourself making love out of nothing at all? I like to flirt, but I never make it into more than that, especially now that I'm in a relationship.

2) All I need is a miracle, all I need is... to win the intercasino jackpot while I'm in Vegas next week!

3) If you had to live your life in one day, how would you speed your time away? With the people I love - my family, my friends, and Steven. Trite, but true.

4) Do you get so emotional, baby? Yes, I am a big time emotional person. Even more so when tired or drunk.

5) Do you have too much time on your hands? Lately, no. I've been really busy with work and the day just seems to fly.

6) Sex is natural, sex is fun, sex is best when it's... with the person you love. Of course, I've never had any one night stands, so what do I know? :-)

7) Is there something I should know? Nothing that I can think of right now.

8) Do you come from a land down under? Have you ever been there? No, but I would like to go some day. One of Steven's uncles lives in Sydney. He hasn't been down there since the early eighties, so I hope we can go visit them in the next couple of years.

Eight From The Eighties

Better late than never, right? Here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties.

1) Are you true blue? Yes. I am very loyal if you are my friend. I tend to sometimes be more loyal than I should be, but I'm trying to watch that.

2) When's the last time you went steppin' out? A couple of weeks, I guess. I've become such a homebody on the weekends as of late. Late nights at the office, lots of stress, and all I want to do on the weekends is sleep in and do nothing.

3) What's something your parents just don't understand? Why I love movies like Clerks and Pulp Fiction. When I lived at home my mother could never understand why I watched movies with so much cursing and violence.

4) What are sweet dreams made of? A blender of raspberry piña coladas, Steven, and a yummy dinner. I'm easy to please. :-)

5) Are you prone to burning down the house? Yes. I am a total spaz and I can't cook a thing. I would probably burn the house to a cinder if I tried cooking anything.

6) It's the end of the world as you know it. How do you feel? Sad. I happen to like my world and it would suck if it ended.

7) Are you going to Wang Chung tonight? I love that song, so hell yeah, I'll Wang Chung tonight!

8) Why can't I get, just one... ? Deadline at work that I don't have to worry about it being missed.

Eight From The Eighties

Continuing the "better late than never" theme, here's Deb's Eight From The Eighties.

1) Do you like Mondays? Tell me why. Hell no. I hate Mondays. The weekends are never long enough and now that our two-step lessons have been moved to Monday night I feel even more tired. Mondays are evil.

2) Are you footloose? I would say so. We take dance lessons and two-step and polka quite regularly. Plus, I just love to shake my booty. I dance in my chair listening to music, in the car, wherever. Love dancing!

3) Are you a smooth criminal? Probably not. The worse thing I ever did was loan my jacket to some kids when I was in high school so they could shoplift some candy and stuff. It had inside pockets, so it was good for that kind of thing.

4) When you call me, you can call me... People ask me this all the time and I go by either Kymberlie or Kym, I'm not super particular. I do prefer to be called Kymberlie, though, and since only about two of my friends call me by my full name, I always get a little tingle of happiness to be addressed this way. Maybe if everyone called me Kymberlie all the time it wouldn't seem as special.

5) Do you talk to strangers? Yep. I like to chat and will talk to strangers when standing in line or things like that. I wouldn't approach someone, though, and just strike up a conversation about nothing in particular.

6) Have you ever had a one night love affair? Nope. Never.

7) What sad songs make you cry? I am a total sap and cry over tons of songs. There are too many to list though "Bells For Her," "Winter," "Cooling," and "Cloud on My Tounge" by Tori Amos make me cry almost every time.

8) Don't say a prayer for me now, save it til'... all the work that we're supposed to launch this week actually launches. No more 2:00 AM work days!

Eight From The Eighties

Here's my first of Deb's Eight From The Eighties.

1) You might as well face it, you're addicted to... lots of things, including playing poker online at Paradise Poker, Sweet Tooth and Dominoes at http://www.neuroticfishbowl.com/archives/003109.htmlPogo.com, Beanie Babies, Hallmark ornaments, cotton lingerie from Victoria's Secret, and Coke. Lots and lots of Coke.

2) All I really need to do is find myself a brand new... work-out ethic. Been slacking lately about getting in the gym. Really need to workout harder.

3) Who's the wind beneath your wings? Probably my mother and Steven, my boyfriend.

4) Who gives love a bad name? My old high school boyfriend whom I call Satan, for good reason. After five years he dumped over the phone when I called him from work and refused to help me pay for all the credit card bills that we'd amassed in our time together. Since the bills were mostly in my name, he bailed on them. Bastard.

5) Are you too shy? No, not really. I'm fairly outgoing.

6) Do you work hard for the money? Lately, yes! I picked up a new project to manage and I put in about six hours overtime last week alone.

7) There's something strange in your neighborhood. Who you gonna call? Steven first followed by my mother.

8) Why do I find it hard to write the next line? Sometimes I just seem to have nothing to say that's all that witty or interesting (though one could argue I never do!).
