The Good News About The Bad News
I just got off the phone with my mom and it sounds like everything is going to turn out okay.
The doctor doesn't think the cancer has spread from his kidney (he's got three tumors right now). He's had complete renal failure in that kidney already, but the other one has already picked up the slack and is functioning just fine, so he shouldn't need a transplant (though two of my uncles have already offered) or have to worry about totally losing function all together.
He goes in for surgery on November 1st and they'll simply remove the kidney all together. I must say I wish it was sooner than that, but it's not like two weeks is a really long time.
So, I'm feeling much better today. My brother, my mom, and my dad all sound pretty good too, so that makes me happy. It sucks that I'm so far away in Philadelphia, but I think we're fine.
Please continue to keep my family in your thoughts. The next few months are going to be hard on all of us, no matter what.

I know how you must be feeling durning this time having went through the same thing recently... I'm keeping you and your family in my prayers.
