My, What White Teeth You Have, Grandma!

Despite Christine always telling me that I have lovely white teeth, I'm always convinced that they're horribly stained. I've been wanting to get them whitened at the dentist, but not having a job kind of puts a crimp into spending a few hundred dollars on it. So while in Wal-Mart a few weeks ago, I bought one of the Crest Whitestrips Premium kits.

I finally used it for the first time today and my initial impression was that the strips weren't long enough to actually cover most of my teeth - just the front ones. Anyone else used it and thought the same thing? It's supposed to be used for a week, so I guess I'll know soon enough if it will whiten more than just my front teeth.

I've used the Whitestrips too, and they only cover the front teeth.. but when I had my teeth bleached at the dentist office he only did those teeth too..said the others are never really seen. :-D

How is this for a horrible romantic gesture... An ex-boyfriend of mine put Crest White Strips in my christmas stocking, without me asking him to. I was so insulted, and he was so sure his gesture was genuine and nice and all. Um, no. Thank you for reminding me that I have nicotine and caffeine stained teeth. And for the record, he also gave me breath mints that christmas. Thanks, love. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I was going to use those but the pharmacist where I work told me they were really bad for my gums. and since I already have sensitive gums that are prone to bleeding, I decided to pass on them. I'll just keep using whitening toothpaste and hope it helps a bit.

the Colgate Simply White toothepaste works pretty good. At least enough to actually notice something. I tried the Simply White paint on stuff but it really hurt my teeth, so the whole 4 seconds it was on there didn't really help a lot.

that's what I use, Nina. I was thinking about trying the Crest Vivid White when I'm out of the Colgate.

I used them once, although after a few days I could only use them on my top teeth--they made my bottom teeth too sensitive and hurt. I'm not sure if they made a huge difference--my friends certainly weren't commenting like in those commercials. Oh well....

Oh and yea, I think they are only meant for the front teeth, since those are the only ones people really look at anyway

my dad's a dentist in the UK, and he's involved in testing the colgate white strips here before they get released. He says they're pretty cool, and they aren't much worse than "proper" dental bleaching which costs around £300 here. By worse, I mean, effective. They won't damage your gums, but stop if they start to feel uncomfortable. And don't do what I do, and go to the liquor store whilst wearing them - funny looks and impeded speech. Bad combo.

Whoa. I have been away too long. I totally missed another Burn It. Darn.

I tried Night Effects with good results. Full details available here: http://www.triciamcmillian.blogspot.com/2004_02_01_triciamcmillian_archive.html#107573102856148075
