Timing Is Everything

I just finished watching Final Destination. While it's not the best horror movie I've ever seen (but it's certainly not the worst), I still love the premise. Basically, a high school student named Alex gets a vision that the plane that he and a bunch of his fellow students and teachers are on is going to explode, he freaks out, he and six others get thrown off the plane, and while they are back at the airport, the plane really does explode. One by one they start to die as Death tries to right the pattern that they cheated.

So, what do you think? Do you think that when it's your time, it's your time or that there is no pattern? Can you cheat death?

that movie freaked me out... seeings how it was done in this century.. and most new 'horror' flicks suck. I'm also terrified of planes.. but I do think when it's your time it's your time.

I too thought it was a great premise, but was a little disappointed with the movie.
I guess I do think that your time is your time. But I reserve the right to change my mind.

That's a good movie, and the 2nd was was okay, too. Basically the same thing, only a car accident instead of a plane.

that movie scared the crap out of me. I don't think I could handle seeing my death seconds before I go.

I think that when it is your time to go, your gone. In the case of the plane exploding, it would not have been their time to go and they would have continued to live. Another twist is that it was fate that they got off the plane and however they died after that was fate.

against my better judgement, i saw this movie in the theater when it first came out... and i ended up loving it! i mean, sure, it wasn't the best piece of cinema i've ever seen, but it had a good premise, and a decent plot. yeah, you could see most things coming a mile away, but admit it... there were some things that totally took you by surprise, right?

as for fate, i don't think that there is a "time" for everybody. shit just happens. death is not some humanistic creature that you can "cheat"... it is simply the end of "life".

I love both Final Destination movies...but I think they're hilarious. I suppose I may be one sick puppy....the unlikely but inevitable deaths cracked me up
