Pre-Ordering = More Time
Since I always have Amazon gift certificates, I tend to pre-order a lot of books and movies from them. The latest: Monsters, Inc. What is driving me crazy, though, is that the movie came out on Tuesday, all the others items say, "Usually ships in 24 hours," but all my stuff is STILL sitting there after three days. I've noticed in the past (like last week when I pre-ordered Emperor: Rise of the Middle Kingdom) that it takes longer for a pre-ordered item to ship than if you would have just waited and placed the order the day it came out. Anyone else notice this? Is it just me?

I'm still awaiting my Monsters Inc. DVD from Amazon, too. Bastards. I want it!!
.: say-say said on September 20, 2002 04:27 PM :: link it :.This has happened to me, as well. So now, if I'm anxious to have a new release, I buy it at a store, if the price is reasonable. I got my *Monsters Inc.* DVD at Stop & Shop for $19.99...two bucks less than Amazon, but at least I have it now. We're gonna watch it tonight!
I love all the Disney/Pixar stuff, and I can't wait to see this one!
Still, I bet Amazon has it before the official release date. Many stores do. I was once in a CVS drugstore a few days before Harry Potter came out, and was surprised to see it there, for sale. However, they just had the VHS version, so I passed (was anxious to get it, but not THAT anxious!). I figured that some kid put them out by mistake.
I don't see the sense in pre-ordering if you can't get it on the release date. Anyway, hope you get yours soon!
