The Lofton Family
As some of you may know, Florida doesn't allow adoptions by gay people. Plese visit Let Him Stay and read the story of Steven Lofton and Roger Croteau and their five foster children. These kids have never known another family, but Steven and Roger can't legally adopt them. Please read the site and then sign the petition letting the state of Florida know that you support adoption by gay families.

My family and I are an emergency foster family. This means we have children stay at our house until they can be put into a long-term foster home or can go back with their parents. We have had two sets of brother and sisters and one two month old baby. Each of these experiances have only been for two months but every time I have had to say good bye it has been extreamly difficult. Even if you have a child for a even a week you can grow really attached. After a while I needed them just as much as they needed me. I can't even imagine having a child stay for 10 years and then have the government take the child away just because of your lifestyle. I think your way of life is not the government's buisness and if you can take care of a child for ten years then you can handle taking care of the child permently.
